I am deeply concerned and firmly committed to calling for a potential boycott of all future Twitch Events and TwitchCon. This decision is made in solidarity after reading and seeing fellow creators, exhibitors, colleagues, and community members who share our serious concerns, growing frustrations, and evidence of negligence from Twitch.
Costs have surged while security standards have deteriorated. The negative interactions allowed to occur ranging from harassment to the belittlement of talent, community members, and colleagues are reprehensible. Even the unconfirmed rumor that that Twitch staff and volunteers walked around both at the event floor and block party making jokes about talent and community members who were subjected to sexual harassment and mistreatment. Evidence of these horrific experiences are widely documented across social media.
I believe we all stand united in demanding meaningful action and lasting change from Twitch. The era of empty promises and performative gestures is over, and accountability begins now.
