Tbf i fully agree with your point on innovation, theres a lot we dont know yet but i feel like FTL is particularly tekky from a mass and a gforce perspective. Theres an excellent video by Kurzgesagt called the final border that goes into the tech/resources currently available to the human race and the energy cost

@Obiii_3 @eldivine I don’t disagree that the concept of FTL is ludicrous as it stands, but then isn’t that the point of innovation? To go beyond the realms of possibility? Although I will admit the energy cost of FTL is infinitely more than the cost of cutting through.

I find it fascinating that the speed of light is the universal constant, and somehow the Bible says that God’s first command was “Let there be light”. Like think about it, if you were Moses trying to invent a religion from your imagination, there was nothing intuitive about that as your starting point 5,000 years ago. Consider that people were thinking the sun revolves around the earth even as late as Middle Ages.

Did you know🚨: A civilization 2,000 light-years away looking at Earth today would see the Roman Empire.

@eldivine @ArcherLyfe Exactly, FTL is a science fiction concept. Practicality would be warp gates or something of the sort

Which part of the universe is more advanced than us? Also physics shows that you cannot actually move faster than light at all. All time travel in scifi uses worm holes, warping space or something else to bypass this contraint when they move FTL. But to actually physically move FTL is not possible

I actually can't wait for the afrobeats/Nigerian culture obsession abroad to be over because it seems to be exacerbating a certain kind of foolishness, blindness, and even undue pride about the state of the nation.

the thing about adhd (and other neuro conditions) is that people who don’t have it sometimes cannot make sense of how it works and i don’t mean that in a “you just don’t get me” way i mean it is literally sometimes so stupid and incomprehensible

@BrianGCN People actually say the njakiri is supposed to motivate them to do so. For many it doesn’t. English language is not hustling preservation. Nor has it been shafted to second language status. So our approach for both wont be same.

Has there ever been a group that operated with more sheer audacity than the Spanish Conquistadors? If their story were written as a film script, critics would probably dismiss it as wildly unrealistic. youtu.be/ajLfreJos20?si…

One of the reasons I train hard and run fast in Lagos races is the finite nature of the medals. I finished the 10km in 50 minutes, got my medal early and began to aura fam shirtless. Later heard of a stampede and people having to buy medals. Just train harder, guys.
