@demsocjohnbrown Henry Ford instituted weekends and raised workers wages bc he discovered it increased productivity. There was no expropriation involved. Nothing in the Soviet Union shows that expropriation was positive.

@Objectobot Actually, factually, and repeatedly demonstrated historically expropriating can achieve great results. Henry Ford and weekends, both the Soviet Union and PRC to name a few examples. Why do the rich fight it so much? Especially when being nonviolent is more effective.

Even if Marx’s labor theory of value were true, which it is not, and even if we could implement it and give all surplus value (profit) to the workers without any negative economic effects, even in the most ideal scenario it would amount to, at best, a 10% raise for workers. Marxism provides no avenue for people to escape poverty or improve their lot in life. The free market does, even our semi-free markets do. Learning a valuable skill and voluntarily trading with others has provided the greatest opportunity for the poor not only to escape poverty, but to raise their standard of living to heights that no Marxist or collectivist system could ever dream of.

Well first of all the rich parasites are on the chart. Parasitism spans all income levels. But you might want to take a look at how much the rich actually pay in taxes, they pay the overwhelming majority of all taxes. Top marginal income tax rates do not tell us anything. In fact when they were higher, there was way more write offs, and the rich did not pay those rates. High taxes with special write offs is exactly what creates cronyism.
