Pete or Akin needs to assert themselves here. Both pulled up at the base. If one of them commits it’s done.
Brutal break was that the ball fell into Schanuel’s legs and he kicked it into right field and made it to third. He doesn’t score the next AB if not for that freak play.

@F6P_Joe So the basepath isnt a set line. Its established when a tag is attempted and goes from the runners position to the plate. Schanuel had already moved to the right before a tag was attempted so he established his own basepath and didnt move more than 3ft from it

Basically the runner is allowed to establish their own basepath when the tag attempt occurs from where they are to the base with a 3ft leeway. Schanuel moved over before the tag attempt so was well within his established basepath
