The tech space is becoming really toxic lately, and honestly, that’s not how it should be.
What’s even more disappointing is that the same people we look up to, the people who are supposed to set the standard and bring unity, are the ones constantly dragging and fighting each other publicly. It really doesn’t make sense.
The people I pity the most are the newbies just entering the tech space. Imagine coming into a community you expected to learn and grow from, only to meet envy, hate, competition, and unnecessary negativity everywhere. It’s confusing and discouraging.
Tech is supposed to be a space filled with growth, collaboration, support, and people genuinely helping each other win. That’s how communities grow stronger.
But these days, it feels like everyone is against each other instead of building together.
I really hope one day we return to a healthier tech community, one where people can grow without fear, hate, or unnecessary drama.

There was a guy that really wanted to get into tech. The kind of person that would stay awake till 2am watching tutorials, hoping one day his life would change.
At first, he was excited, but then reality started. Errors everywhere, confusion everywhere, things refusing to work. Still, he kept going.
One day, he applied for a tech internship. He prepared seriously and truly believed this was his opportunity.
The test came and he failed badly.
That night, he closed his laptop. Days passed, then weeks. He slowly gave up on tech completely.
One evening, his friend called him and asked: “So because of one test, you gave up?”
That question hit hard because really how can one failure decide the rest of your life? One test? One rejection? One bad moment?
His friend told him: “You think people succeeding today never failed before? The difference is they continued.”
That day changed something in him. He started learning again, not because it became easier, but because he realized failure is not a sign to stop. Sometimes it’s proof that you’re trying.
Months later, he took another test and this time, he passed.
Some of you need to hear this too. One failed exam, one rejection email, one missed opportunity and you already want to quit?
So because of one test, you gave up?
Your story cannot end that early.

Growing up, people used to live to 100 years and it felt normal. Later, the average dropped to around 70.
Now, seeing people die in their 50s is becoming so common that society barely reacts anymore.
The craziest part is how normalized it has become. Someone dies at 50 and people say, “Well, he tried.” Imagine that. Fifty years now sounds like a full life.
Sometimes I just sit and wonder what is really going on.The situation in Nigeria is honestly heartbreaking.

Man, I really love connecting with people who know how to communicate well, people who can influence others and convince people to do things they normally wouldn’t do.
People who know how to move others with their words, mindset and presence.
Those kinds of people inspire me a lot because conversations with them are never ordinary. You listen to them speak and immediately realize how powerful communication truly is.
The way they think, explain things, carry people along and make others believe in an idea is honestly impressive.
I genuinely admire people like that because being around them can completely change your mindset.
One meaningful conversation with the right person can motivate you, open your mind to new possibilities and even push you to become better.
That’s why I’ll always value people who know how to speak with confidence, inspire others, lead conversations and leave an impact wherever they go.
Communication is a skill, and people who truly understand it carry a different kind of value.

ATTENDING TECH EVENTS IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD NEVER IGNORE.
One of the worst things you can do as a beginner in tech is blindly believing people who say, “Attending tech events in Nigeria is not worth it.”
The truth is, those people have their own reasons for saying that. Some of them are already established, already connected, already experienced. But if you’re just starting out, that advice may not apply to you.
Attend tech events whenever you can.
And no, it’s not only about networking. Sometimes, it’s about exposure. It’s about seeing how things are done, seeing what people are building, hearing real conversations, and understanding what the future of tech actually looks like.
This is something people don’t talk about enough.
As a beginner, tech events can help you a lot. You get inspired, you learn faster, you meet people ahead of you, and sometimes, one conversation can completely change your journey.
Nobody knows where their next opportunity, mentor, internship, collaboration, or helper will come from.
Not everything your idols say should become your personal belief. Sometimes, experience things yourself and decide what truly works for you.
If you’re still starting out in tech, tech events are not a waste of time.
They are an investment in yourself.
