NATO - U.S.: The outcome of this crucial meeting between the very diplomatic and accommodating NATO Secretary General Rutte and Trump is totally unpredictable. Nothing less than Western unity is at stake.

BREAKING NEWS: Second US Air Force plane apparently crashed! If this Breaking News proves true, this would be the second plane downed today. As a majority of Americans appears to be quite sceptical on the justification of this military operation, these losses might turn against the Trump administration.

Major Western countries have gone from unreasonable leftist-socialist pseudo-woke cancel culture to now totally unpredictable rightist-nationalist politics which totally disrupt the world economy and create total chaos. Can we have a balanced, globalised, pro-business, innovative, strong and respected West, based on predictable international rules?

@Osint613 If taxes and regulation were lowered, Europe would indeed be attractive. As long as this is not the case, Europe will remain less attractive as business spot than the US

It is indeed not the state’s role to finance medicare. This must be in “private hands” and not state financed, except for extreme hardship cases. Europe shows how bad for an economy state financed medicare is. Defence is however a “core” area the state may collect taxes for. Requesting however 1.5 trn USD for the military is however completely unreasonable (who is going to pay for this?) and seems to reflect more the need to compensate for the failed military operation in Iran.

EUROPE — Macron slams Trump, France blocks NATO pressure
French President Macron publicly criticised Trump for his "unserious approach" to the Iran war and his damaging attacks on NATO, telling reporters: "When we're serious, we don't say the opposite of what we said the day before."

OPINION: Europe must now become 1 country, or become irrelevant.
Washington bombed Tehran without asking Europe. Energy prices are soaring, markets are shaking, and allies were not consulted. The lesson is brutal and clear: 27 nations whispering separately will always be ignored. For a stronger Western world, the EU must now become 1 country, or become irrelevant.

Why should government finance ordinary medical care beyond limited assistance for extreme hardship? Defense is a "core" area where the state has in principle a role to play. On the other hand, the 1,5 trn. seems to totally excessive (who will pay that?) and Trump's request is obviously a result of the failed military operation in Iran

@SenSanders AI is a technological progress than can't be stopped. It can only be monitored and guided. To show AI as a "tool" of "billionaires to increase their wealth" is a dangerous nonsense. Would you prefer the West to be stuck in technological stagnation and let China win this race?

@dw_politics It has to be checked how many Syrians will be needed by the European labour markets. Moreover, the persons staying here must understand Western values and be compatible with them.

The United States labor market delivered a forceful rebound in March, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting 178,000 new jobs created, nearly three times the 65,000 forecast by Bloomberg polled economists.
The figure represents the strongest monthly gain since late 2024 and arrives against a backdrop of significant geopolitical and energy market turbulence stemming from the ongoing conflict with Iran

@SenWarren Absolutely wrong! The West needs lean states, business incentives and lower taxes. Wealth taxes have never brought any good, especially if the collected money is designed to finance administrations or state subsidies for useless projects. Business people will leave if you do this
English

The U.S. now becoming a totally unreliable partner for the West, this crisis only shows one thing: to strengthen the West, the EU must now become 1 strong country. As long as there are 27 national states (without real geostrategic power) speaking, China and the U.S. will not take Europe seriously and Europe will be irrelevant

@FT Besides these measures, the countries should lower immediatly the taxes and regulation to enable the companies and the markets to adapt to this critical situation. The market is smarter than states to do this.

@RonPaul @beinlibertarian This operation has not been thought through by the US and Israel. No prior consultation with European and other Western partners. Now it’s chaotic and the West inherits uncertainty. A disaster for the Western countries and world markets…
