@PhilMcSherry Predators like white sharks often utilize an ambush strategy, where they slowly swim with schools of prey and then execute a sneak attack. Over a long distance, a tuna can outswim a white shark, but in a short burst, the shark can have the advantage.

🦈 OCEARCH great white shark Percy has pinged again in the Gulf after being tracked far offshore between Pensacola and Destin. Percy is a 9 ft, 9 in sub adult male great white shark weighing around 432 pounds. He was tagged and released in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, on July 28, 2025, by the Tancook Islands Marine Field Station Team alongside OCEARCH Science and Fishing Teams. According to OCEARCH, Percy was first detected near the Florida Panhandle on April 21 and has continued moving through the deep Gulf waters off the Panhandle in recent weeks. 👀
