Leadership demands maturity in how we judge others especially those entrusted with public office. It’s important to understand that when @orengo_james the governor engages with the President, it is not submission; it is service. Governance is about delivering results, building partnerships, and securing development for the people regardless of political alignment. Development is not a favor or a reward for loyalty; it is a constitutional right owed to every citizen. At the same time, leaders are not one-dimensional. They can collaborate where necessary while still holding independent views, values, and convictions. That balance is not weakness it is the essence of effective leadership.

In this moment of our democratic journey, it is striking how rare genuine independent thinking has become. What should be the foundation of a healthy society the ability of citizens to think critically, question openly, and form their own convictions is too often mistaken for defiance or rebellion. If thinking for oneself is labeled as rebellion, then perhaps what we are witnessing is not a crisis of dissent, but a discomfort with truth. #TukoKadi Mombasa Shokde #LindaMwananchi

It is deeply disheartening to witness police institutions & political formations that appear unprepared,if not resistant to the emergence of youthful competition and leadership. What should be a natural and necessary renewal of democratic life is instead met with friction, suggesting an entrenched reluctance to yield space to new voices and ideas. This reality points to a more protracted struggle than many anticipated one that may well persist until the very end. It also invites a more difficult philosophical reflection on democracy itself: when the principle of majority rule coexists with systemic barriers that limit genuine participation, can it truly be said to reflect the collective will? And yet, within this tension lies a measure of hope. There is a growing awareness among youthful citizens, a gradual awakening to. If sustained, such consciousness may prove to be the very force that reshapes the democratic project into something more inclusive, responsive, and just. #TukoKadi

Solar isn’t just an alternative anymore it’s a necessity. ☀️ For big companies and organizations, switching to solar means cutting long-term energy costs, reducing dependence on unstable power grids, and taking real responsibility for the environment. It’s not just about saving money it’s about building sustainable systems that last. Our latest installation at Karen Church. Clean energy is smart business. The future is solar. 🌍⚡ #CleanEnergy

@odanga_r One of the few writeups I’ve seen that captured part of the message well was @OCTOPIZZO
OCTOPIZZO@OCTOPIZZO

Someone asked me why I looked old or older in my Kibera photos compared to Now, this was my house when Legendary @NaziziHirji visited me in 2009. Looking to how youths are being used badly as goons let me tell those who don’t understand coz it’s clear most of you may not fully grasp the reality of life in the informal settlements so allow me to offer you a lived synopsis. The slums age me long before the world ever gave me a fair chance. By 18, I carried the weight of decades not because I wanted to, but because I had to. Spending your first 25 years in a place where poverty is normalized doesn’t just shape you it scars you. Not only through the absence of basic needs, but through the constant dehumanization even from relatives who distance themselves once they move beyond those streets. You’re criminalized by default. Watched, profiled, and blamed before you’re ever seen or heard. There is no access to food security, no reliable healthcare, no consistent education, and certainly no financial safety net. Just the brutal mathematics of survival. And survival isn’t free it demands your innocence, your dreams, and often, your spirit. It ages you. It erodes your sense of wonder. It kills the child in you before he ever knows what freedom feels like. But somehow, I found a way out. Music became my escape not just an art form, but a form of resistance. Through it, I found my own . I reclaimed my voice. And in doing so, I began the slow work of reinstalling my soul. This is why ending poverty is not charity it is justice. It is the restoration of dignity and the protection of every child’s right to simply be a child. If this doesn’t happen the goons will never ever go away and your favorite politician probably knows this and it excites him. #endpolicebrutalityke #DON 🐐

Jana mtaa ni same story. The growing frustration among young people attempting to register as voters across the country is deeply concerning. What we are witnessing is starting to feel less like a logistical challenge and more like a deliberate barrier to youth participation in our democracy. There is no shortage of capable, energetic young people ready and willing to serve as clerks for IEBC. Many are unemployed and eager for meaningful opportunities. Why not engage them directly in this process? Expanding the workforce by recruiting and deploying youth as registration clerks would not only address capacity issues but also empower the very demographic we should be encouraging to participate. The manpower exists. What appears to be lacking is the necessary facilitation and commitment to ensure a smooth, accessible registration process. Reports of registration centers being understaffed or, in some cases, completely unattended are unacceptable. #TukoKadi

There was a time in Kenya when Parliament truly carried the voice of the people not perfection, but conviction. The 10th Parliament (2008–2013), forged in the aftermath of the 2007–2008 Kenyan post-election crisis, stands as perhaps the last moment we witnessed a legislature driven by national urgency rather than narrow self-interest. But here’s the truth we must confront today:Parliament no longer fears the people. Too many have become comfortable, compliant, and easily influenced.
Too many have traded courage for convenience. And when Parliament becomes weak, the people become exposed. Let’s be clear this is not just about leaders failing. It is about citizens stepping back. Because history has already shown us:
When Kenyans apply pressure, power listens. When Kenyans organize, systems shift. When Kenyans stay engaged, accountability becomes unavoidable. So this is a call: Stay alert.
Stay vocal.
Stay involved. Demand better. Question everything. Hold your leaders accountable consistently, not occasionally. The 10th Parliament was not a miracle.
It was pressure. And if we want a better Kenya, then pressure must rise again #TukoKadi

The energy we’re seeing from young people showing up to register is powerful and it deserves to be matched with proper support. At the Kibera registration centre, we currently have only one clerk handling overwhelming numbers. This not only slows down the process but also places unnecessary strain on the officer on duty. @IEBCKenya respond with urgency by deploying more clerks to this station. Access to registration must be efficient, dignified, and reflective of the enthusiasm on the ground. Let’s not allow logistical gaps to discourage civic participation. The momentum is here now it’s about meeting it with the right systems in place.
