@drewlevin got Aegis and agreed to swap roles because both were fine for me either way, but only found out swapping removed aegis after the match and I lost LP
There should be a warning that Aegis gets removed if you swap roles, not even the ranked blog post mentions it.

Riot Games is reportedly working on the next League of Legends title. The company’s Shanghai studio is opening multiple roles for an unannounced project currently in development, which is expected to arrive on PC and Mobile. The project is believed to be a HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact-like experience set in the League of Legends universe, which is quite interesting.
