Fine by me, if you don’t like classic lit. Read what you want to read. And stop trotting out your college degree at the age of like 65 and getting all defensive about not liking classic lit. Seems you’re just plexed about not being as “well-read” as your snob frenemies.

@rios_ucio It’s so great to discover him this way. I’ve had a great feeling about him and bought several of his novels and stories already. A whole new landscape.

@OdenKate James is extraordinary! The stories, even the early ones, read like they could have been written yesterday. They feel modern, and are so rich. Amazing body of work.

@OdenKate Just enjoy it. It might be better just to say I’m going to read three paragraphs when I sit down. It’s the first thing I’m going to do. And see where it leads.

I actually think the Franklin Collection looks ridiculous, all together like this. Unreal. “100 greatest books” “unread,” the FB Marketplace ad says. Um, yeah. What a fake out.
