BIGSdb v.1.42.6 has been released. This version expands list query functionality to every table in the database – previously it was only possible to use lists to search by attribute values for isolates, profiles and alleles for single loci.

It shows how no isolate collection is too small for undertaking meaningful genomics analyses which is important in resource-limited settings where obtaining bacterial isolates can be challenging.

This work was part of Carolle Tayimetha’s PhD thesis and it characterises Cameroonian gonococci.

Latest @UKHSA data on STIs has been published today. Some key takeaways: ▶️Gonorrhoea diagnoses increased by 50.3% from 2021 to 2022 ▶️Syphilis diagnoses was the largest annual number reported since 1948 ▶️Chlamydia diagnoses (all ages) increased 24.3% from 2021 to 2022
