Songwriting tip : Use Pinterest to find song ideas! 💡Pinterest is full of creative content and there are tons of song ideas to be discovered. 📝Take note of words or phrases that you could use as a song title, or you might even find a great song hook.

What is a publisher? There are two parts: the creative/administrative sides. On the administrative side, publishers make sure songwriters get their royalties. On the creative side, publishers create opportunities for songwriters, like pitching their songs and setting up cowrites.

Songwriting challenge : Write a song that has more than one perspective. ✌️Changing up the perspective in your song is a useful tool and also helps when writing the dreaded second verse. Instead of wondering what else to say, change the perspective. 👯Maybe write a duet!

Songwriting tip : Give yourself deadlines! 📅When you give yourself a deadline, it requires you to visualize your goal and find ways to achieve it everyday. 📌If you want to write an album, don’t just make that your goal. Give yourself a deadline to have that album written by.

Since technology and streaming platforms are such a huge part of the music industry today, playlisting is very important. If your song lands on a playlist, your audience and exposure increases. This means potentially new fans, likes, and listeners!

Songwriting challenge : Co-write! 📝This week, challenge yourself to step outside your comfort zone and find someone to co-write with! 🎵Come prepared with song ideas, either song titles, lyrical ideas or musical ideas that you may be able to expand on with your co-writer!

Songwriting tip: Be YOU! No one has experienced life exactly the way you have, so take hold of what makes you, YOU. This will result in a unique songwriting experience. Be vulnerable in your songwriting, and you will be amazed by the outcome.

What are PRO’s? A performing rights organization directs royalties from public performances of songs to the owner(s) of the music. When a song is played at the mall or a restaurant, PRO's like ASCAP or BMI ensure the person who owns the music receives the royalties.
