🚨👀 Carrick on how to get past a hurdle: "Evolving the group, that's one thing, that's for sure. If that involves reinforcements, then it will be reinforcements. Some of the young players will improve. We want to do better, but there's no miracle recipe for getting there. It's hard work, a bit of common sense and intelligence, as well as good players."

@UEF_Podcast @UnitedEdits_ And I have a feeling that, he's only playing transition football at the moment so as to get a job done and at the beginning of next season he would return to his possession based footbal

@UEF_Podcast @UnitedEdits_ I also believe United is best suited to transition football than possession football, and this is where I have my reservations about Carrick. Because at Boro, he played possession football.

💭 Signed for the club in 2006. Was part of the glory days until Ferguson retired. Was there post Ferguson when we begun to struggle. Captained the team before retiring in 2018. He didn’t stop there. He became assistant coach under Jose and Ole. A caretaker coach in 2021 before finally leaving the club to earn his own stripes as a manager. That made up 15 years of continuous service to Manchester United as player and coach through the good and the bad times. Sometimes you may not know this, but all that experience had prepared him for the United job inadvertently. A solution hiding in plain sight. Similar to the course Zidane had taken at Real Madrid in many ways. He came back after his stint at Boro, into a situation that he is actually familiar with at a club that he knows like the back of his hand and he simply fixed it. It hasn’t taken him aback because he has seen it all at United. A lot of players in this current squad respect him because they idolized him and many others in the great United sides he played in from 2006-2013. They saw those teams with their own eyes and how good they were. Same will be the case for players we want to sign in the average age bracket of the squad. They will know who Michael Carrick is. The past 6 months will reinforce their beliefs in the kind of manager they will be working under. From his demeanor to his actual work on the field. Back him with a great squad and he will continue to deliver. Very optimistic about that. He has proven he deserves it. Over to you @INEOS @ManUtd

At the U17 level, coaching should go beyond constant touchline instructions. Players need the freedom to read the game, solve problems, and make decisions on their own. Too much direction every second can limit creativity, confidence, and game intelligence. @eastsportsman anaa?

@UEF_Podcast I see Ayden Heaven as his replacement. So he should be allowed to see out his contact(including the one year extension).

💭 Martinez has one year left on his contract after this season( with an option of a year extension). Is he worth a new contract ? 🤔 Or should we consider a replacement with his injury record in mind ? 🤷🏽‍♂️

宝石@baoball

—Baleba is a high-volume "destroyer-carrier" hybrid operating primarily at the base of midfield. He differentiates himself from the traditional #6 through elite ball-carrying metrics rather than surgical distribution. He functions best as a "pressure valve" receiving in tight Phase 1 zones, absorbing contact & breaking lines via dribbling rather than passing. While his distribution volume is high, his primary value is disruptive: he breaks opposition pressing structures with his feet and breaks opposition attacks with elite physical recovery.

@OfficialMawuto @UEF_Podcast Do you need a box to box midfielder or a defensive midfielder? The main issue here is about passing range, positional awareness, build up and press resistance. He’s too rush for that. I gave you an example of Fred to simplify it for you

@aijukaT97 @UEF_Podcast So a DM doesn't press high, win duels and second balls? Also, a CM can't sit deep and build up? Chale 🤦

@OfficialMawuto @UEF_Podcast CM, he needs to freedom to press high, win second balls, duels etc. He can’t sit and build up. He’s a box to box midfielder. It’s like asking Fred to be your no.6 . We saw how many issues it caused with limited passing range
