The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) recently hosted Aviation Safety Infrastructure (ASI) inspectors for a two-week training programme, on ICAO Risk-Based Oversight (RBO) and the Resolution of Safety Concerns, held in Johannesburg at the @Airports_ZA Aviation Training Centre. Facilitated by the East African School of Aviation (EASA), an organisation committed to strengthening aviation across the continent through technical expertise, capacity building, and industry support. Delivered at a critical time for global aviation, the programme addresses the growing need for more adaptive, data-driven, and proactive approaches to safety oversight. Beyond enhancing technical competencies, it reinforces a shared commitment among States to strengthen collaboration, enable knowledge exchange, and harmonise best practices across the continent. The programme concluded with a certification ceremony recognising ASI inspectors, whose expertise and leadership play a vital role in strengthening safety and compliance across critical aviation infrastructure. The SACAA Executive: ASI, Ms Tembisa Maphike, who officially opened and closed the programme, joined in marking this important milestone. #SACAA #RiskBasedOversight

To assist with efficient screening, remove all laptops and large electronic devices from your bag at security checkpoints and place them in a separate tray. Belts must be removed during screening. Keeping your electronics easily accessible and being prepared at security will help reduce waiting times and keep queues moving during busy travel periods. #ACSA #EasterTravel #AirportTips
