Welcome, everyone visiting, the the official TCGXC page.
What is TCGXC? It’s an ecosystem currently being built that solves many of the problems the TCG community has had with apps and websites meant to enhance their TCG experience. For example:
- Many collection apps have photo detection systems that are inaccurate and buggy. Almost to the extent it’s not worth it for the app to have the camera detection system.
- Many collection apps do a decent job of tracking the prices of raw cards and sealed products. Graded cards are a bit more difficult to track.
- The primary apps and sites used to buy and sell cards and sealed products aren’t very user friendly, have sometimes prohibitively high fees, don’t support buyers and sellers properly or offer sufficient protections.
- There’s yet to be an app (to my knowledge) that accurately tracks numerous grading companies prices for comparison as well as population and gem rates.
- For people who collect multiple games, most of the apps are an unmitigated disaster. You generally need one app for one game and another app for another game with no real focus or incentive for master setting.
- Collection import, particularly from a CSV file simply doesn’t work meaning users have to start over completely if they switch.
- Apps are missing features people want. For example card show or event discovery to include finding items you’re looking for while AT a card show - price threshold alerts for cards and sealed products - grading submission tracking for better tracking of submission timelines and results - collection valuation reports for insurance - leaderboards - etc.
So we are setting out to solve these problems and many more. In order to do that we need vast community feedback. We will be posting roadmap updates and progress reports - funding opportunities - and just engaging with communities to get a feel for what the community wants and how we can best serve the TCG community
