Dr. Steve Kang, Division Director of Head & Neck Surgery, delivered a lecture at Thomas Jefferson University’s Department of Otolaryngology. His talk, “Rethinking Surgical Margins in Oral Cancer,” sparked meaningful discussion on advancing care in head and neck oncology.

Congratulations, Dr. Logan McColl, PGY-5, on receiving Honorable Mention for the Haynes Award for Innovation in Otolaryngology, hosted by Vanderbilt University, for his work as a co-inventor on a patent for an augmented reality software suite and vibroacoustic array.

We were thrilled to welcome an outstanding group of fellows from across the U.S. and Canada for the 2025 Head and Neck Microvascular Reconstruction Fellow Course, held October 17-19 at Ohio State.

Members of the Otolaryngology department enjoyed this year’s Harvest of Hope Gala, an evening of dining, dancing and philanthropy benefiting The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

Meet our newest faculty member, Jeffrey Steitz, MD, clinical associate professor in the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Steitz brings extensive experience from several years in private practice and, most recently, four years in Greenville, SC.

This weekend, Dr. Ellie DeVore and Heath Barron, SLP, led an outreach project at the National Association of Teachers of Singing, hosted at the OSU School of Music – with 200+ singers from across the nation!They presented an interactive educational session on vocal health.

Huge shoutout to residents Sham Rao (PGY-4) and Taylor Freeman (PGY-5) who hit the pavement on Sunday for the Columbus Half Marathon – all in support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital! And extra props to Ryan Judd (PGY-5) for being the ultimate cheer squad on a rainy morning!
