@imthescorpihoe I would say that starting a shootout in a densely populated neighborhood with countless families is a great reason to kill someone. Especially if you can do it without putting anyone else in danger. This guy was willing to kill people like you or me because he couldn't pay rent.

NEW: Kern County deputies intentionally run over barricaded shooter with a BearCat who killed a detective On April 9, 2026, Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies were serving an eviction notice at a home in Porterville when 59-year-old David Eric Morales opened fire with a rifle, fatally striking 35-year-old Detective Randy Hoppert. Morales then barricaded himself and continued shooting at law enforcement during an hours-long standoff. After a SWAT team’s armored Rook vehicle began tearing down the front of the house, Morales fled to the backyard and hid in the brush while still armed. He fired at the approaching BearCat armored vehicle. To neutralize the active threat, a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy drove the BearCat over Morales multiple times. Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux later defended the tactic, stating publicly: “We intentionally ran him over… You shoot at cops, we’re going to run you over. He got what he deserved.” On May 12, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Incident Review Board ruled the deputy’s use of deadly force was within policy.

This is going to be more and more frequent an occurrence in the coming years, and anyone who thinks the good guy/bad guy line is clearly delineated in these sorts of situations is going to have a rude awakening in a few years.

@Drhike4beer @washghost1 Legality and what a cop would do are 2 completely different things. Beating your wife is illegal, but 1/4 of cops do it. Stopping under an overpass subjects you to a wind tunnel effect that will flip your car at lower wind speeds and blocking emergency services and anyone fleeing

You were the one to call out its illegality, I responded with how meaningless that is.
Cool for your story, I believe you, since it’s normally not tornados it’s storm fronts where the rain/hail is so strong you can sometimes not see more than 10 feet in front of you, everyone slows to a crawl and people stop under overpasses. It happens, no one gives a shit if someone doesn’t want it to happen, get pissed and do nothing.

@Drhike4beer @washghost1 I have lived in the Midwest and tornado alley my entire life, and I have never seen anyone do this. Using cops as your moral compass is certainly an interesting choice. All this does is put yourself and your community at much higher risk because you don't want dents in your car.

Remember me talking about my neighbor's dogs that keep pooping in our yard with zero care from the owner?
One of them just chased my 6yo daughter while she was playing outside and bit her arm.
15 minutes before by 9yo daughter's birthday party.
I'm not at the urgent care with my six year old and my wife is juggling a birthday party with 8 kids on her own.
This is the second child this dog has bitten. We have already contacted animal control and filed a report.
Is there anything else I should be doing?
