As a daughter of the late Deputy Controller of Customs and proud Apapa man, Alhaji Ilyasu Yakubu Allahbura, Apapa has always been home to me. I grew up within this community and understand both its strength and its struggles. I am also the granddaughter of Yisa Brahimo Ottun, fondly known as YB Ottun (Allahu Lateef). The calls, messages and encouragement from the people of Apapa over the past few days have been overwhelming. I have heard you clearly. Maybe the people are finally tired of representatives they only see on campaign posters. I will be taking consultations seriously in the coming weeks as we listen, engage and explore what true representation for Apapa should look like. This is not just about politics. It is about visibility, competence, structure and genuine service to our people. Help spread the word. Hauwa Allahbura.
