@dkennedyglans @nspector4 NATO is a defensive alliance. The public has not been presented with a case why this excursion is defensive in nature.

@nspector4 It may be impolite to say this, but is NATO finished? If members depend on the US to protect them but give America the finger when called on to provide naval support in the Strait of Hormuz….

Q: Do you not agree with Joe Biden in his assessment on Israel and Iran? 🇨🇦 Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre: “I think if Israel were to stop that genocidal, theocratic, unstable dictatorship from acquiring nuclear weapons, it would be a gift by the Jewish State to humanity.”

@Rory_Johnston @rockcreekfreak If what I was a part of was a frantic rant then sign me up for the next one. Your presentation brought a lot of clarity for the upper and lower bounds. Thanks Rory!

@rockcreekfreak Thank so much, glad you enjoyed! Was in Calgary to present nuanced Venezuela analysis, and ended up doing a lot of frantic rants about Iran. 😅

It's truly insane that the Trump team has tied themselves in so many stupid knots re: the SPR that they're reportedly considering truly insane things—e.g., Treasury directly intervening in futs market—before they'd consider using the Reserve for the PRECISE REASON IT WAS CREATED

Recently I was asked for testimony by the Standing Committee for Natural Resources. Amongst the discourse on CNRL's Jackpine Mine decision, it remains relevant. Thanks to @ericnuttall and Dr. @ExnerPirot for their contributions.

BREAKING: Canadian Natural Resources, one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world, will PAUSE their $8.25 billion oil sands mine project because of "regulatory uncertainty". According to them, the federal industrial carbon tax has created "uncertainty and economic burden for a long-term growth investment." The truth is, anti-development Liberal laws are still in place and continue to push investors and builders to other countries with clearer rules and more predictability. Conservatives will repeal anti-development Liberal laws like the federal industrial carbon tax to make Canada self-reliance, sovereignty, united, and affordable.

Canada should be able to replace all the LNG Germany was going to buy from Qatar. But Liberals killed 17 proposed LNG terminals in the last 11 years. Carney needs to repeal anti-development laws, get out of the way and permit private-sector investors and workers to fuel freedom with Canadian energy.

Doesn't get said often enough: Britain, America and the rest of the Anglosphere are amazing places. To live, to visit, to understand the history of humanity, to enjoy life. Even when the direction of travel is negative, it's still true that we are very lucky. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇦🇺🇳🇿🇨🇦

Underrated factor in why English-speaking countries have especially bad housing crises is their common law systems (adversarial and litigious) vs judge-led civil law systems elsewhere. Makes Anglo planning/permitting systems especially vulnerable to NIMBYs and other objections.
