@OldPhonePreserv I've been trying to find this wallpaper for years 🥹 I first saw it in my dad's D880 Duos and thought "Wow it's such an HD Image!" Now looking at it on a 32" 4K Display makes me feel so old...because it doesn't look HD at all but back then, this was the highest res img I hadseen

This picture of cherries is a default wallpaper on tons of different old #Samsung phones. The picture itself is known simply as "Cherries" and was taken on May 16th 2005.

It feels like not much time has passed since I announced 1000 pages on LPCwiki, but somehow it's been doubled! Combined that with being cited in phone-related videos, it's nice to see what started as a project to share more detailed feature phone info grow as much as it has.

If you watched "The Deplorable Bootleg iPhone." from DankPods and wondered where he got info about a feature phone chipset, it was LPCWiki! Definitely not the first time it has been featured by YouTubers with a large fanbase, but it's always a bit mind-blowing to see this happen.

#DidYouKnow? User 1144822034 on GitHub has published an emulator for an MTK MT6252-powered phone called the Flyying IHD316. While I've been unable to get it past the idle screen, the fact this boots at all is no easy feat! The project can be found here: github.com/1144822034/MT6…

ICYMI, @YuviApp partially preserved Biohazard: The Operations, a previously-lost Biohazard keitai game! It heavily relied on missing SD card data, but Yuvi painstakingly recreated the data from scratch, resulting in all missions and online leaderboards being functional! (1/2)

Apologies about the serious lack of posts these days - the world continues to get busier, but the firmware dumps and fun with documenting devices still moves smoothly to this day!

A few months ago, I posted about the closure of thisisarecording.com, a massive telephone intercept archive going far back. I'm happy to report that it's back online, thanks to the fine folks who run telephoneworld.org! Visiting the site now shows lots more than before :)

Major advancement in i-mode game emulation! In one month, GuyPerfect created a Yamaha MA-2/3 audio implementation system, allowing us to listen to Gradius NEO/NEO Imperial's soundtrack as it sounded on original hardware. Both games now have near-perfect sound emulation... (1/2)

Thanks to the efforts of @DaveOshry who kept this game on his phone for 18 years, this exclusive mobile port of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved has been extracted and preserved. I am demonstrating the extracted game sideloaded on a Samsung SCH-U470. Link will be available soon.

Recently, Rare Noggin Stuff dumped a Disney Mobile-branded #Samsung DM-S105, making it the second device on this MVNO to be dumped! As one would expect, nearly all of the graphics in the phone have been given a coat of paint from the mass media giant.

Cuebus preserved the trial version of Real Zero: Another Edition, a previously-lost Fatal Frame i-mode game! You use your phone's camera to take a picture and fight ghosts. The game also sends you in-game emails with hints. The trial comes with one ghost, and it's sideloadable!

Real sorry about the lack of posts as of late... things have been very busy. Keep checking the Dumbphone Repo's changelog and LPCwiki though - feature phone ROM and content preservation has not slowed down one bit!

In the very early age of mobile phone games, before the days of Java ME or anything like it, they were baked into the firmware of the phones themselves! An example of this is the roguelike "Cavern Crawl" on certain #Kyocera phones, such as the 2235.
