I believe it's Old Park Road in the early 1900s (the cows confused me for a moment!)

@wthirskgaskill Oh yes! Another memory I have is the sales they had there on boxing day where quite a few people would queue up from late evening on christmas day.

@OldRoundhay In the 1970s, just about every electrical appliance in our house came from Jones of Oakwood.

Black Swans. Canal Gardens, Roundhay Park, 1984.

@AnneQuinton I've just been looking at pictures of black swans that my mum took. I'm going again to see her on Saturday so I'll get those scanned in. The water feature I don't remember being elsewhere but I think I have at least one old photo showing it that I will try to locate.

@OldRoundhay Do you remember the black swans? And do you remember when the current water feature was actually near the band stand at the Roundhay fox entrance?

The Canal Gardens, Roundhay Park, Leeds. A view believed to date to 1907. I have often noticed the W. Morris sign at the end in these old photos but as this one is a bit clearer I can now see that it also appears to say "Strawberry Garden"

I was given this old copy of NME recently featuring a write-up of the 1987 Madonna concert at Roundhay Park and it's absolutely brilliant.
