I've been watching this Battlefield 6 NA Cash Cup through a few perspectives (mainly @EndersFPS) for the last hour or so... I think the crew just needs to put a wrap on Redsec tournaments until the proper infrastructure is in place for this stuff man, like custom lobbies. My understanding is that the tournament is running WAY over time (3 games run in 4 hours), teams are constantly disconnecting with lobbies restarting on repeat, they are now RETROFITTING the ruleset and lobby setups due to teams having to leave because it is running way over time, leaderboards are being reset. This is NOT how you run tournemants. And it's a MASSIVE waste of people's time. It just doesn't look good for the competitive scene that Battlefield themselves are trying to cultivate and promote. Between this, and the Elite Series, its so bloody clear that infrastructure is not there man. Put a wrap on it until this shit stops. We just keep digging a bigger hole for something good to climb out of.

@TTrebb @EndersFPS I’ve played in basically all the scrims and for the most part (user errors) it runs super smooth. The $10ks also ran very very well.

@EndersFPS I don't want to throw anyone under the bus, obviously, but it CAN definitely EASILY work. It's just a learning curve. I just don't want anyone to assume this stuff is like impossible/equal to that, when it works great 95% of the time.

They are 100% going to have a multiplayer competitive explosion when spectator comes in, grassroots BF has always been popular it’s just shit like not having spectator that usually ruins it. With that being said the elite and open series have been announced to still take place in 2026, EA shouldn’t have to “pick one” they can do both. Grassroots leagues already do it with bare minimum support.

I’ve been getting back into competitive Battlefield again (scrimming in 8v8 conquest formats) and I have to say that the there is so much untapped potential for competitive Battlefield leagues. There are already incredible communities, teams, and leagues happening as it is. But I’m also really hoping that the Spectator mode and the Custom Lobbies which are scheduled for Season 4 give said communities more tools to show off how good this side of the game can be. And on top of that… I’d love to see EA come to the table in officially backing more multiplayer-focused competitive leagues. REDSEC is all well and good, and the Elite Series would have been great had it… well… launched. But I think the true Battlefield magic for competitive player is lying in wait in the multiplayer side of the game.

Yeah I guess that’s my main gripe, support the scene as a whole. Eyes on redsec, gauntlet etc etc will help grassroots. I understand not enjoying that portion of battlefield, and that’s fine, but to drag it when EA is finally putting up $$ in any form of competitive battlefield is a W.
