I still do not understand the point of the MAC-Z scene. Why did Vecna show up, diss Will, do nothing and then just leave? Unless he wanted to provoke Will into unlocking his powers. And this is my main issue with people who say the writing quality declined in vol II. SO MUCH doesn't make sense even in vol I and the first 4 seasons. The quality of writing is pretty consistent, it's just that the the show feels like it's missing its big reveal/final resolution.
