@Olivercw7 @seffy11 The point he’s making is not the transfer fee, it’s the desirability of the destination. For Salah, Mane (both signed for £34m, by the way) and Van Dijk going to Liverpool was unquestionably a step up in terms of their club’s profile. Is it for Frenkie?

But apart from that he’s desperate to come

@seffy11 Yeah it’s still big clubs, but tbf the players you mentioned turned into stars only at Liverpool, and they joined from smaller clubs (Southampton/Roma). FDJ has been a star already for years, and Barça’s surely just as big as Man U (if not bigger). I don’t see many similarities…
