@TheShowtimeReds But that's not something to rave about....it's a manager's job to improve the squad....if pep only worked with world class players it's because he demanded them....Fergie for all his greatness kinda accepted the mediocre squad and even protected the Glazers to a certain extent

@mcclairfreddy @seffy11 Fair enough. Maybe not a step up in terms of team but certainly in how valued he is by the club. Barca want to sell or cut his wages in half, united want to pay huge transfer fee and he is obviously valued by ten hag.

@Olivercw7 @seffy11 The point he’s making is not the transfer fee, it’s the desirability of the destination.
For Salah, Mane (both signed for £34m, by the way) and Van Dijk going to Liverpool was unquestionably a step up in terms of their club’s profile. Is it for Frenkie?

But apart from that he’s desperate to come

Frenkie de Jong has NO interest in joining #MUFC because he 'dislikes' the city and believes the club is run erratically. 😳❌

@mcclairfreddy @seffy11 Maybe not stars but they were valued as such ( Van Dijk £76m , mane and salah £40m each)

@seffy11 Yeah it’s still big clubs, but tbf the players you mentioned turned into stars only at Liverpool, and they joined from smaller clubs (Southampton/Roma).
FDJ has been a star already for years, and Barça’s surely just as big as Man U (if not bigger). I don’t see many similarities…
