Update on Joy
Joy is doing okay, not really better or worse at this point.
We had taken her to her regular vet this morning; earlier this afternoon it seemed like we were heading there to put her to restโฆ
She perked up immediately once we got there, and the doctor decided we should bring her home and attempt at home care with special food, medicine, and SubQ fluids they gave her before we left.
Once we got home, we were able to get her to eat a little bit of a churu squeeze treat and 3 pieces of those freeze dried chicken treats for cats.
Sheโs been given her anti nausea and pain medication, once I gave her the pain medicine (Buprenorphine), she got loopy and has been hiding under my cabinet; she seems calm and relaxed, but she is not willing to eat more; which is vital for her recovery with her liver; the longer she goes without calories and proper nutrition, the lesser of a chance her liver will be able to heal.
Iโve been sitting here, crying, screaming, just angry at the world, and I want to be able to give her the best possible chance of getting through this, I wonโt be able to live with myself knowing I didnโt do everything I possibly could for her if she doesnโt make it through thisโฆ
At this point in time, with her not really interested in food, Iโm very much leaning towards getting her hospitalized for the weekend so that they can tube feed her what she needs, as there is special kitty food for this exact situation.
Her visit at her regular vet today was $551.21 which I covered with my GamerSupps payout, her ER visit on Wednesday was $876.36; which I paid with my Care Credit and will be using donations Iโve received since to pay it off.
A 48-72 hour hospitalization will run us about $3500; and I hate myself for even needing to askโฆ But I need helpโฆ Please help me save my baby, please help me give her the best possible chance to get through this.
For every $25 donation, I will be writing you a personal, hand written letter as a thank you, and will even mail it to you if that is something youโre interested in.
If anyone would like to help in paying for her hospitalization, it would be so so appreciated; but please, do not feel obligated to donate, especially if youโre in a rough financial situation and cannot afford to put money towards this, always take care of yourself first and foremost.
