BREAKING: APC crisis deepens as Hafsatu Danladi led faction emerges, lays claim to the party leadership. ...INEC put on notice to derecognise the Nentawe Yilwatda led NWC. In what can be described as an unexpected twist of events, a new faction on Wednesday emerged from the ongoing leadership disputes of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),Guardien can authoritatively report. The crisis, which commenced a few days ago, took a new dimension on Wednesday after a failed reconciliation meeting conveyed at the instance of the president. According to reports, the Nentawe Yilwatda led faction of the ruling party made an offer of 40 billion naira to the Hafsatu Danladi led faction in order to end the crisis and douse the tension, but the latter vehemently refused, signaling a narrow chances for the ruling party to field a presidential candidate in 2027. Indications are high that baring any last-minute intervention by the powers that be at the villa, INEC may be compelled by the courts to seize recognition of Nentawe Yilwatda faction arising from the flawed March 27 party's national convention in Abuja, pending the determination of the substantive suit. When our correspondent contacted the faction led by Nentawe Yilwatda, he confirmed the ongoing leadership crisis but declined further comment, when we sought his opinion on what we knew regarding some APC governors being behind the plot to remove him. ©️Guardien

PRESIDENT TINUBU'S 2025 CHRISTMAS GOODWILL MESSAGE My Fellow Nigerians, As we mark this year's Christmas, may the love of Christ and his message of grace, hope, peace, and goodwill to humanity abide with us all. Beyond the celebration and festivities of this season, Christmas reminds us to reflect on the significance of Jesus Christ's birth and his message of salvation as the Prince of Peace. On this Holy Day, I wish all Christians in Nigeria and around the world a Merry Christmas. I thank God for the opportunity to serve as the leader of our great country, and I pray for peace in our land, especially among individuals of differing religious beliefs. As your President, I remain committed to doing everything within my power to enshrine religious freedom in Nigeria and to protect all people of different faiths from violence. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let us also reflect on the many contributions that Christians in Nigeria, as followers of Christ, have made and continue to make toward the progress of our country. The love of Christ and the message of the Gospel have inspired many Christians to care for the vulnerable and less privileged in our society. We honour those who, following the example of Jesus, work tirelessly to promote peace, harmony, and tolerance in their communities. For those who bring hope and faith in the midst of despair, this season is a reminder that, despite daunting challenges, God is with us. Since I assumed office in 2023, I have continually reassured Nigerians of our unyielding commitment to safeguarding the security, unity, and stability of our nation. That commitment remains steadfast under God and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. All Nigerians have the right to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity. No one, regardless of ethnicity or belief, should be made to suffer for professing and practising his faith. The love for God and love for humanity is at the heart of all the great faiths. These shared values must continue to bind us together as one indivisible and resilient people of our blessed country. Throughout the year, I have had the privilege of engaging with prominent leaders from the two major faiths in the country, particularly amid concerns about religious intolerance and insecurity. We will build on these conversations to strengthen collaboration between government and religious institutions, prevent conflict and promote peaceful coexistence. As many Nigerians travel to reunite with family and loved ones during this holiday period, I urge all citizens to exercise patience and maintain discipline on the roads. I wish all travellers a safe journey and a safe return to their destinations. With confidence in divine providence and our collective strength, we will continue the work of building a greater Nigeria--one that future generations will be proud of. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria December 25, 2025

@dele003 @Imranmuhdz Let's not politicise everything or make politics out of everything. The move to contribute 1billion each state within themselves is a good move in the right direction, and it will help a lot in the fight against insecurity particularly in that region if it is judiciously spent.

Why most of the northern leaders are demanding 1 billion every month to fight inse€curity and want mining suspended for 6 months is totally wrong and out of touch. When Buhari was in power for a full 8 years, there was no such demand from them, but because they have been out of power for just over 2 years, they have started making unnecessary demands.

Northern Governors, Traditional Rulers meeting: Demand 6-Month Mining Suspension, ₦1bn Monthly Security Fund to Fight Insecurity The 19 Northern Governors and the region’s Traditional Rulers’ Council have issued a strong communiqué after an emergency joint meeting held today at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna, declaring that only collective action and decisive measures can end the escalating insecurity ravaging Northern Nigeria. The meeting, described as “pivotal,” produced far-reaching resolutions aimed at tackling banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and the growing menace of illegal mining. Key Resolutions from the Communiqué: - Immediate suspension of all mining activities for six months**: The Forum accused illegal mining of being a major driver of the security crisis in the North and demanded that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu direct the Minister of Solid Minerals to halt all mining exploration and subject every mining licence to revalidation in active consultation with state governors. The leaders warned that artisanal and illegal mining must be brought under control to starve criminals of funding and logistics. - Establishment of a Northern Regional Security Trust Fund: Each of the 19 northern states and their local governments will contribute ₦1 billion monthly, to be deducted at source, into a dedicated security fund. The framework for the fund will be finalised soon. - Full backing for State Police: The governors and traditional rulers reiterated their “wholehearted support” for the creation of state police and urged northern federal and state lawmakers to fast-track the necessary constitutional amendments. - Renewed support for President Tinubu’s anti-terrorism efforts: The Forum commended the President for securing the release of some recently abducted school children and praised the sacrifices of the armed forces. They pledged “renewed and total support” for any military action required to take the fight to insurgent enclaves in order to end terrorism and banditry once and for all. - Condolences to affected states: The leaders extended heartfelt sympathies to the governments and people of Kebbi, Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kano, Borno, and Yobe states over recent killings, abductions of school children, and Boko Haram attacks. The communiqué emphasised that “only through unity, peer review, and cooperation” can the North overcome its challenges, with the leaders reaffirming their determination to discharge their constitutional responsibilities with “firmness and clarity.” Another joint meeting will be convened soon to review progress on these resolutions.
