One of the reasons the insecurity tempo has increased is because it's an election year. The National Assembly should quickly allow state policing. — Kenny Okolugbo, Fmr. Consultant, Comms & Strategy, Office Of The Senate President #CTVMorningBrief

Go and read my take on the saga. It is here and everywhere. Did he act outside the law? He applied the law correctly in accordance with judicial precedent. You people won't call out ADC leaders who cooked their fates by needlessly rushing to the Court of Appeal
Jude@AgbaJude

@AbdulMahmud01 So the "world Press conference" is the problem now? You told the world you could vouch for his character. Didn't take up to a year for him to prove you wrong Sir.

World Press Conference, populated by local journos, reduced to the hollow refrain: Sack the INEC Chairman. Noise dressed up as outrage. Nigerians must begin to look beyond this parade of unserious opposition figures long on bluster, short on action.

The NDC is growing rapidly, and due to its appeal, Nigerians from all walks of life across the country are rushing to join our ideological party. Today, in the company of some National Officers of the NDC, it was a pleasure to receive a team of experienced politicians from Kebbi State who are decamping from their various parties—the ADC, PDP, and the APC, to strengthen the NDC in Kebbi. I thanked them for identifying with our party and urged them, in line with NDC ideals, to build an inclusive and democratic party. I also again thank Nigerians for their confidence in the NDC and its ideology, and enjoin all Nigerians not to give up on our democracy and our nation. The NDC is the clear alternative to this ruthless, undemocratic, and oppressive government of the ruling party—the APC, and I urge all who disagree with the APC to join the NDC and channel their energies into supporting its growth so we can, together, provide credible candidates who will restore Nigeria. —HSD. In the video, Hon. Nafi’u Bala Gombe (ADC National Chairman/factional leader) sits facing the camera in traditional attire, speaking directly to viewers. He firmly denies resigning, calling a viral letter (dated May 18, 2025) "fake news" and a forgery by "mischievous elements." He gestures emphatically and holds up an official African Democratic Congress letterhead document to underscore his point, urging people to ignore the rumors and spread the truth. The ~2-minute clip is a direct rebuttal amid ongoing ADC party factionalism.

A similar situation was why the SDP wasn’t picked as the coalition party—the chairman didn’t agree to resign and hand over the structure to the new players. Some of us have been there.

Today, I joined leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other committed democrats at a world press conference to strongly condemn the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) brazen and unacceptable partisanship. I fully endorse the position of the gathering: In 2027, Nigerians must be allowed to freely choose their leaders from a diverse range of political parties. The electoral umpire has no right to impose a single candidacy on Africa’s largest and most vibrant democracy. - RMK

This afternoon, I joined other leaders of the Coalition ADC at a World Press Conference led by our National Chairman, Sen. David Mark, on the threat posed by the partisanship of the electoral umpire. As our National Chairman assured: this attack on our democracy will not stand. Dictatorship lives, but only for a short time. -AA

ETIM ETIM: "Senator Henry Seriake Dickson has formed a political party known as the Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC), and he has resigned from the PDP and taken up the role of national leader of NDC. The party was registered in February by INEC, and its first national executive council (NEC) meeting was held last week, a month after its registration. New protem leaders of the party were appointed by the NEC, and they are Senator Moses Cleopas, national chairman and Barr. Ikenna Alex-Morgan Enekweizu, national secretary. Dickson has spoken of how he will make NDC different in both ideology and governance. From all indications, he would want to build and nurture NDC into a formidable national platform just as President Bola Tinubu created Alliance for Democracy (AD), with other like-minded leaders, in 1998 and built it into a party that won the 2015 presidential elections." thecable.ng/can-seriake-di…
