1/4: Today, 1st April 2026, I begin a new chapter as a distinguished retiree of the @AfDB_Group. After 34 years and 8 months of service, yesterday marked my final day. It has been a journey built entirely on God’s grace—sustained, guided, and fulfilled by Him.

I’m so emotional today… 🥺😭 Because I still can’t believe I’m living the life I once only dreamed about. Seven years ago, when I chose you, people had so much to say. They called you “just a laundry boy.” They said, as a Registered Nurse, I should aim higher…that I should marry a rich man… But while they were busy speaking, I was seeing. I didn’t see your beginning, I saw your potential. I didn’t see your situation, I saw your strength. I didn’t see lack, I saw a man God was still writing his story through. And I knew… with Jehovah on our side,we would build something they could never understand. Today, 7 years later… 😭 That same “laundry boy” they spoke about…is the man Jehovah used to push me, support me, and stand by me until my dream of becoming a USRN became a reality. Tell me… how do I not get emotional? We have gone places we once only imagined. We have lived a life we once prayed for. We have built something money cannot buy, love, peace, purpose, and a home filled with grace. This is not luck. This is not chance. This is Jehovah’s doing… and it is beautiful in my eyes 😭❤️ My sunshine in my darkest times ☀️❤️ Thank you for believing in us when it mattered most.Thank you for proving that purpose is not defined by where you start. I will love you today, I will love you tomorrow, and I will love you forever ❤️ Happy 7th anniversary to us and and a decade of everlasting love❤️ If you like carry billing pursue better man. #nursejoy

Last week Saturday at the salon, a man walked in with his son and asked for the price of a haircut. They told him 2k for you and 1k for your son. He quietly said, "Just cut my son's hair." I noticed he wanted one too but couldn't afford it, so I told him not to worry. I covered the cost for both of them. As I was about to drive out, he rushed over to thank me. We got talking, and I discovered he doesn't have a job but at least, he was willing to work. He humbly begged me to help him with any job, even as my driver, but I enjoy driving myself. I reached out to a pure water factory nearby where someone I know is a manager and secured a driver/distributor position for him. For the past three days, he has been calling nonstop to express his gratitude. The feedback I’ve received is that he’s diligent and honest. I’m really glad he’s doing well. There’s a special kind of joy I feel whenever I put a smile on someone’s face. I've been disappointed so many times by people I try to put on but I'm glad this one is going well and I pray he doesn't disappoint me. Above all, love God.

Over 40 timber homes built. Over 600 tonnes of CO2 removed. Over 200 jobs created. Over 160 football field of forests protected. Over $2.5M in Economic value created. ————- 3 years ago, I was in a tree planting activity in Hoima and then something very serious popped into my mind. The thought was “where do you expect the biggest up take of timber in the next 10 years?” , I did a couple of reading on many sites while linking the patterns. For the days that followed , I landed on a figure that described the housing deficit in Africa, this narrowed down to Uganda which had 2.4 million units (not sure if it still stands). As a forester I saw an opportunity in linking the two by seeing wood as a construction material, I searched almost everywhere and no one was doing it but by then I saw Easy Housing had just put a prototype in Arua and this triggered me to reach out. At that time, there was only one newly built wooden house in the entire country and it was like 500km away from Kampala. To cut the long story short, I was given an opportunity to demonstrate all my abilities at full scale, I tried every activity you can think of in a startup such as writing business proposals, pitching to investors, joining accelerator programs, selling, marketing, etc. All these I couldn’t find them in school , but I found the right people who were willing to train, empower , and trust that I could . If I was to make one statement to any person out there, please always give people an opportunity to try out their abilities. It’s what can take us from Zero to One. Someday I will write about how all this happened after a rejection.

Water Is Not Neutral I care about many social causes. One that sits very close to my heart is water. Water for me, is not abstract. It is memory. I grew up in Uganda in the 80s and early 90s, a time when taps in many homes were more decorative than functional. Running water was not something you assumed. So every morning before school, and every evening before nightfall, we walked to fetch water. Like many homes at the time, ours was full with siblings, cousins, and extended family. On any given day, we were about nine young people making that walk together, carrying jerrycans, carrying responsibility. Water was not just water. It was work. It was time. It was duty. It was responsibility. And sometimes, it was danger. One day, as we went to fetch water, one military government had just fallen to another. We encountered men in uniform and they gestured for us to follow them into the bush. We understood enough to know what we were facing. That day, water had led us to the edge of possible sexual violence. An uncle appeared just in the nick of time. He intervened. He got us out. We went home. But many do not. Around the world today, there are girls and boys who still walk long distances for water. And along that walk, they face risk: violence, exploitation, injury. For some, the danger is on the path. For others, it is in the water itself. The fact is that unsafe water also kills. This is why water is not just a resource. It is a justice issue. So when I lent my voice to World Water Day this week, it was not symbolic. It was personal. And it was political. Access to clean and safe water is not a privilege. It is a right. If your water flows freely from a tap, inside your home, may you pause. May you remember. And may you recognize just how sacred water truly is. #WaterIsJustice #WorldWaterDay #AccessToWater
