🚨 || Peter Obi responded to the allegation that he has never participated in any party primaries in his political career. “Thank you very much. It is true that I have never participated in any primaries. In fact, when I became governor twice, it was through consensus. One day, I went to Bayelsa to visit the then President, Goodluck Jonathan. When we got there, his wife came out to greet us. She asked, “Mr. Peter Obi, do you like cow meat?” and I said no. I then called one of the maids and asked her what type of meat she had eaten that morning, and she said smoked panla fish. I turned around and said, “Mummy, please give me panla fish and rice.” After we finished eating and were about to leave, I saw someone outside the gate cutting grass. He was sweating profusely. I asked him to give me the cutlass, and I helped him to cut the grass.”

Oga, this argument no get head or tail. National Security no dey above constitutional rights. If dem fit arrest civilians for "influencing" sojas, then any journalist who dey do interview with disgruntled officer or any activist who dey tweet about military reform na "security threat." In short, the arrest no be about protecting the military—na about protecting the military from scrutiny. If we dey under military rule, that one dey understandable, but today we dey inside so called democracy. If person wan stand in front of barracks dey shout say coup na the way forward, he get that right. No be in this Nigeria where Buhari call for coup prior to 2015? When DSS invite am for questioning, the man talk say he no get business with DSS, why heaven no fall? No be Tinubu who talk say coup na the way forward if GEJ no go leave office in 2015/? Why heaven no fall?

Where Justice Mark Chidiebere Crossed the Line By Zagazola Makama The recent arrest and handover of Justice Mark Chidiebere, popularly known as Justice Crack, to the Department of Security Services has sparked predictable debates about free speech, accountability, and the limits of online activism. But beneath the noise lies a more serious issue one that goes beyond blogging and into the sensitive terrain of national security. From available details, the turning point was not mere criticism of the military. Democracies tolerate, and even benefit from, scrutiny of their institutions. The red line appears to have been crossed when private conversations between the blogger and serving soldiers suggested alignment around “change of government.” In any country, that phrase, especially when involving active-duty personnel is not taken lightly. No professional military, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere, would ignore such signals once credible evidence emerges. The Nigerian Army’s response, therefore, should be viewed through that lens. This is an institution that has, in recent months, remained alert to internal and external threats, including failed attempts by rogue elements to destabilise the system. When a civilian is perceived rightly or wrongly to be encouraging disaffection or coercing soldiers within the ranks, it triggers an entirely different category of concern. At that point, it is no longer about opinion, it becomes a question of discipline, cohesion, and national stability. This is where many content creators must draw a hard lesson. The digital space is not a vacuum. Conversations especially with uniformed personnel carry consequences. Amplifying unverified allegations, engaging soldiers in sensitive political discussions, or projecting narratives that could be interpreted as incitement can quickly move from advocacy into dangerous territory. The line is not always visible, but it is very real. There is also the broader issue of responsibility. Too often, fragments of internal grievances are pushed into the public domain without context or verification, feeding a cycle where the military is portrayed only through its shortcomings. While criticism is legitimate, a pattern of reckless amplification erodes public confidence and, more importantly, can embolden hostile actors who thrive on internal discord. If indeed the conversations attributed to Justice Mark Chidiebere reflect attempts to influence serving soldiers toward political ends, then the response by authorities was not just expected; it was inevitable. What we must all know is that freedom of expression does not extend to actions that could undermine the stability of the state. In an era where a single message can travel faster than any bullet, knowing where the line is and choosing not to cross it has never been more important.

She said her brother was arrested by the police while he was coming back from a JAMB center. According to her, he is just 18 years old and didn’t really know what he was doing. She said he only reposted the message from another account on X. She also said that when he later realized the post was false and could cause harm, he quickly made an apology post and even tagged Tony Elumelu. She kept begging for mercy, saying it was a mistake and asking that he be forgiven and released.

The sister of the banger boy arrested by Tony Elumelu has now come out with an emotional apology video. She said her brother is 18years old and she explained that Tony Elumelu had her brother arrested by the police because of a defamatory post he made on X. According to her, her brother has been in police custody for about two weeks now, and the situation is seriously affecting their family. She pleaded for mercy, saying her brother is still very young and asking Elumelu to forgive him and help secure his release. She also called on the public to share the video and tag him so he can see her message.

Dear Aisha @AishaYesufu I have some honest questions to ask you The other day you solicited for donations for the ADC party movement Now since your principal, @PeterObi has left the party & you are still a card carrying member of the party, what would happen to the donations made? 1) Would the funds get transferred from ADC to the new NDC party of Peter Obi? 2) Would the funds remain with Atiku’s ADC? 3) Would the funds be returned back to those that donated since we cannot find a common ground?

NDC now has a face. What is left is a financier. Kwankwaso has a shallow pocket. Obi is frugal. Dickson takes; he doesn’t give.

Peter Obi@PeterObi·
Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Interpretation… 1. I might leave the ADC because of the legal issues. This was the same reason I left NNPP. 2. From my records, I am a committed party man. So I am not threatening to leave because I’m afraid of primaries (like some people 😒). I have done better than the patron of ADC before, and even when he won, I supported him. 3. I have been a zonal campaign coordinator, former governor, former senator, former defense minister and a PhD holder in Engineering. I cannot be the vice to a second class lower division philosophy graduate who has only been a governor. . . Ultimately he released this to disassociate himself for the nonsense OK movement conference that held yesterday.

Clarification on My Political Position We have noted recent media reports and discussions suggesting a possible realignment within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) due to the current challenges facing the party. In light of the misleading narratives in the public domain, I wish to state categorically that no final decision has been taken regarding my political future or that of my political associates. The recent Supreme Court judgment, while affirming the legitimacy of the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC), also remitted the matter back to the High Court. This has left the party in a precarious position. In addition, the Federal High Court has recently ruled to delegitimise the party’s recent convention. The Attorney General of the Federation has also strangely applied to a Federal High Court to deregister the ADC. We left the NNPP due to externally influenced legal problems that made our stay perilous. The ADC has now been also forced into this difficulty. Consequently, like other major stakeholders, we have commenced wide-ranging consultations — including with leaders from the NDC, PRP and others to explore the best options for protecting our democratic interests. We shall announce our decision in the soonest possible time. On the issue of presidential candidacy, I wish to recall my consistent record as a committed democrat. In the 2014 APC presidential primary, I came second to President Muhammadu Buhari (whom I fully supported to victory), with Atiku Abubakar third, Rochas Okorocha fourth, and the late Sam Nda-Isaiah fifth. Similarly, in 2019, I contested the PDP presidential ticket and immediately supported the winner, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, serving as the campaign’s coordinator in the North. I have always placed national interest and party unity above personal ambition. Furthermore, the ADC is yet to zone its presidential ticket or take any decision on a candidate. I have therefore neither declared any intention to run for president nor endorsed any aspirant. All speculations to the contrary are premature and unfounded. My absence from the two recent ADC stakeholders’ meetings was due to unavoidable personal commitments. I promptly communicated my apologies to the party leadership. We shall continue to engage constructively at all levels. Any definitive position on our political direction will be communicated formally through official channels at the appropriate time. Sen.
