@buddhawi10 Babhan is apabhramsha of Brahman. Brahmins of Bhojpur and Mithila are called Babhans (not Bhumihar)since they're native there.

Besides the obvious demon, Covid happened. These dogs bred and outnumbered like pigs. There's was no one paying attention for those 2 years or so. Insta unfunny memes like dogesh monkesh have only added to the problem.

Just an observation That when I was a kid (30 years ago), I distinctly remember there were no stray dogs We’d go to other localities to play and all, no stray dogs anywhere But now, wherever we go, there’s almost an army of stray dogs waiting What changed ???

In India, vultures almost disappeared within a single generation. A veterinary drug moved through livestock and ended up removing almost an entire scavenging system: more than 99% of South Asia's vultures gone by the mid-2000s. Carcasses that were once removed quickly began to linger. Feral dog populations expanded into the gap, bringing disease. A fast, efficient scavenging system effectively broke down, with measurable public health costs. The response has been long and complicated: captive breeding centres, attempts at 'safe zones' free of toxic drugs and carefully managed releases back into the wild. Even now, recovery is slow and uneven. In Africa, the warning is increasingly relevant. Vultures here face a different set of pressures: poisoned carcasses left out for predators, retaliation killings and demand in traditional medicine/belief-based trade. The mechanism is different, but the outcome being risked is the same. What India shows is how quickly functions fall apart once vultures are pushed beyond a threshold and how difficult it is to rebuild something that used to operate invisibly, all the time. economist.com/1843/2026/04/1…

There is a reason why Hindavi Swarajya succeeded against Islam when it did - All Hindus managed to forget their caste based affiliations and come together to work for a cause. Story of Hindavi Swarajya is story of Hindu “all caste mobilisation” for fulfilling dream shown to them by one man - even up to 140 years after that man’s death. A Brahmin clerk served Mahar Sardar (and earned less than the Mahar Sardar) - this is the case until as late as 1805. Brahmins took swords in hand and became rulers. OBCs rose up to fulfil role of Kshatriyas (and were gradually elevated to V2 status by their karma). Brahmins, Marathas and OBCs filled in to take role of merchants and vaishyas. Wherever lacking, vaishyas were invited from Karnataka (Shettys), from Telangana (Komtis), and Marwadis to relocate to various cities in MH (and in Indore, Vadodara, Cuttack, Thanjavur, Gwalior) and set up their shops. As it expanded, Telugus joined in, Kannadigas joined in. Tamils joined in. Odiyas joined in. Gujaratis and Rajputs joined in. Bundelas, Nimadis, 36-gadhis joined in. With right price even French and Arabs joined in. It fell eventually (everything eventually does) and all the caste related vanities preceded that fall.

This whole worker issue is why we so want to setup a unit in Bihar. Sameer actually leaves tonight for the same. He will be there for three days. Workers work from their own state, less cost as compared to cities as they don’t need to pay rent, less food costs too. Win win situ.

This is Chanakya statue in Maharashtra. I advise people not to get too sentimental for Shivaji maharaj’s statue in other parts of India (latest rant is from Bihar). If something good is to learn from other parts of India, one should learn it. These great men are Hindu great men - to be celebrated by all.
