@Nesterp99 In fairness, this is a reiteration of a product we already all wanted dead. Worst product of the year BY FAR. That’s the wonderful thing about this hobby. No one forces you to buy a shit product. You are in fact allowed to skip a release and sit out a product as bad as this was.

The majority of the comments to this post reference Kershaw having a similar WAR to Verlander despite having 100 less starts. Kinda bums me out that is the go to comment on why someone’s career was better. Is Mike Trout’s career better than Ken Griffey Jr.’s just because he has a higher WAR despite playing in 1000 games? I wouldn’t necessarily say that.

@notgaetti We don’t have a problem with an AVG guy. It’s the way Arraez does it specifically. It’s the 3-2 counts swinging at obvious balls, providing no value anywhere else, grounding into double plays on bad pitches. Tony Gwynn should role over in his grave when people compare them.

@notgaetti HES NOWHERES CLOSE TO GWYNN. Absolutely insane of old heads who watched Gwynn and love Gwynn, but so quick to compare a slightly above average player to gwynn. That’s like comparing Bobby Witt to Nick Allen, bc both are good defensive SS.🤦🏼‍♂️ absolutely horrendous to compare them

It's like You People™ don't believe me when I say that I subjectively prefer the aesthetic of a high-contact, high-action brand of baseball. Hitters like Arraez are fun to watch, they're like magicians with the bat. Adam Dunn hitting 41 HR with an .800 OPS in 2012 was more "valuable" than a typical Arraez season by many metrics, but I can't bring myself to stomach the .204 BA and 222 K that accompany it. It's not fun or entertaining baseball. To me, walks and strikeouts are the two most boring possible outcomes of any plate appearance. This is not something that's provably right or wrong; it's only my opinion. I find TTO baseball more boring than the on-field product of the 1980s, especially the over-abundance of walks and strikeouts. Why does that bother you so much?

@JohnErickson107 It makes a card more liquid at full comp rather than 90% I’d say is the argument. If we’re talking goats and older stuff? Much different comparison. LeBron 03’ exquisite 23/99 is fetching A LOT more than any other version.

I 100% disagree, respectfully of course. To a collector, it could mean all the difference! For a MJ card, would a collector rather have the 23/100 or the 29/100? Had to pick one? It’s the 23/100. Now whether there should be a value increase - it’s all about the buyer.

Might be an unpopular sports card selling take: I don’t think “Jersey #” print on a card should increase its value, I think it’s a ploy by sellers to get more money out of an /199 card. It’s one thing if you collect it, that’s cool! But to use it as a means for value. Thoughts?

@aceofcards89 @bziddy 90-110 depending on if you’re doing last, or averag recent. Some people do it different. Either way. It’s a lot of risk to spend $8k+ on singles, to profit $100. The wheel giveths and the wheel takeths. There are breaks that go negative ALL the time. I can attest for where I work

@aceofcards89 @bziddy Yes actually at shows every weekend almost. I said on LIQUID cards. 80% is fine on your $25-$200 cards that have a 25% discrepancy on the average of the comp. Please point me in the direction of any of those cards in that list at 80% I’ll cash anyone out right now.
