@ByMFTN @SchnurreZueri @LeadingReport As a shield? They literally had this problem in 1974, it was one of the main reasons it got pulled back within a year

@SchnurreZueri @LeadingReport The use of kids as a shield is the most annoying part of this discourse. I’ll be glad when the trigger is finally pulled so people can stop yapping about it.

@ryandehn @PattieRose20 You can get the same sun at the beginning of the day, which is far more beneficial for humans when they wake up.

@PattieRose20 Don’t try to fool us with your corrupt Standard Timer studies. We don’t need some study to tell us that the sun on our skin at the end of the day feels righteous. Daylight savings warriors have become wise to your ways. Long live the Revolution!!

@cbsnr @RichHotel88 @CenTexLib Well this is false. What do you think a main reason the permanent DST enacted in 1974 got repealed? Because kids walked to school in the dark lol.

@nmlinguaphile @RichHotel88 @CenTexLib Your simply thinking of what you’d like, rather than what’s best for others. Most people don’t live on a farm or ranch.

@RichHotel88 @CenTexLib And do you think kids want to, or should, walk to school in the dark?

@CenTexLib I am a firm proponent of Permanent DST. Why? During the dead of winter, would I prefer light while I'm at work or when I'm at home enjoying life? Home wins every time. Same thing with extended summer light.

@misfitvgc @PatriotSpin @CarlPaulus To a degree, maybe. Most people would be able to see the sun prior to work. The most important time to get sunlight, when you wake up. Lots of kids at school have time dedicated outside. For work you have breaks and lunch. Along with your days off.

@OnTheUpcoming @PatriotSpin @CarlPaulus Let me explain why it’s a bad idea for Americans. Unless you work outside, you spend all day in a building at work or school. Standard time makes you leave that building to complete darkness. That would cause vitamin d deficiency and depression

@gobluemike @CarlPaulus The kids need it so they’re not walking to school in the dark… like they did in 1974. And then it got repealed. Within a year.

@CarlPaulus Give me more evening daylight! I don’t need the sun coming up while I am sleeping at 5 am

@EthanMozart10 @SaveStandard @LeadingReport Better you drive home in the dark or carpool or public transportation than school children walking to school in the dark, don’t you think?

@pau11960 @SaveStandard @LeadingReport You know, not every place is lit with light… right? It would cost billions to add that infrastructure all over the country

@SaveStandard @LeadingReport Dangerous commutes? You know there’s something we invented years ago, it’s called a light. Might want to try it out sometime

@SaveStandard @LeadingReport we don't give a fuck about your dark mornings. we sleep during that time. what we do care is to have sunlight at 4pm, and going back home in the dark is worse.

@SaveStandard @LeadingReport "Standard time" is all around worse, we have street lights, bus stops, and all kind of illuminating gizmos and gadgets. No need to ruin every afternoon because you think it's dangerous

@kpatrickpayne Then put your kids to bed before 10. The sun shouldn’t dictate bedtime. I went to bed before dark almost every night in summer when I was little. So did my kids, unless it was a special occasion.

@BLACKsafy @SinnerReformed1 @LeadingReport Well in Alaska it does lol. Also Washington gets late sunsets (past 9) Oregon as well. Plus standard time is healthier for the circadian rhythm

@SinnerReformed1 @LeadingReport How can’t people go to bed in the summer??? lmfao it gets dark at 8pm and people usually don’t go to sleep even at that time what are we even talking about. No one wants it to be pitch black at 5pm half the year everyone waits for daylight savings time to do anything

@nichessgame @EndgameaiChess Thats the point though. It’s a game, no one who truly wants to play would do that. It’s like any other game. Nothing is worse than watching someone else play when you can be playing yourself.

🇺🇸 Hans Niemann: “Chess will be one of the last forms of real intellectual warfare” Hans Niemann on AI, brain chips, and the future of chess: “Chess is an amazing game that has stood the test of time, being a game of international prominence for 3,000 years. In the age of AI, when humans will have the sort of brain chip, chess will be one of the last, if not the last, forms of real intellectual warfare. I think chess has a great future. And I don’t think AI consumption of our lives will affect it too much. At least, I hope so.”

Billie Eilish responds to criticism for saying in recent interview that “eating meat is inherently wrong” and if you eat meat you can’t love animals: “stay f*cking mad at ME i really don’t give a goddamn f*ck […] go watch a documentary or two and some footage of what is done to the animals u claim to love and what it does to the planet u pretend to love as well. if that footage was hard for u to watch i encourage u to pls take a look at urself. like i am so tired of standing up for/having empathy for living beings being controversial. pls continue to live in a constant state of cognitive dissonance and denial and try to convince urself that ur not living a lie. mwah 💋”
