Press Release: In response to our family’s challenge to its overreach, the ICPC has issued a statement of which no law enforcement agency can be proud if indeed it is committed to upholding citizens’ fundamental rights, the laws of Nigeria and the Constitution under which those fundamental rights are enshrined. Let it be on record that the family and supporters of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai have no reason to treat government agencies as infallible masters of the universe. The actions of agencies of the Executive Branch are not beyond scrutiny and criticism, the more so when the heads of those agencies have succumbed to undue influence and become tools of political scheming, rather than law enforcement. The ICPC statement was unable to deny that it prevented Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s doctor seeing him on Friday, 15 May 2026. Neither was it able to state that it did not prevent delivery of dinner by his wife later that same evening. Indeed, it cannot deny The ICPC is aware of court orders granting Mallam access to his family, lawyers and doctors. Yet, this same agency is employing what it calls ‘protocols’ to vitiate these orders of court and render them to be practically of no effect. Otherwise, why is the ICPC placing obstacles in the way of a doctor already identified by Mallam as his physician? While we respect internal administrative procedures, we must protest when those protocols become tools for waging a subtle psychological war on our family or for brazen violations of court orders. It is obvious to every observer that the ICPC seeks to inflict on Mallam Nasir El-Rufai every act of torture it can conjure as part of the coordinated effort to break him. The duty of the ICPC to secure someone in their custody is not the same thing as treating that person as having even fewer rights than a convict. In what way did preventing the delivery of his dinner amount to securing him, more so considering the rather puerile reason given by the ICPC, that the dinner arrived 30 minutes late. What the ICPC did not say was that this dinner arrived later than usual because the wife who brought the dinner at 7pm had been with Mallam’s medical doctor all through his 2-hour ordeal of delay (3pm - 5pm) earlier that same day. The ICPC knew this, since they caused the delay and should equally have known that it would be physically impossible to prepare dinner and be back at ICPC by 6:30pm. It is common knowledge that the most egregious affronts to human dignity, life and liberty have been dressed up as ‘protocols’ or ‘rules’, when they are nothing but the thinnest veneers of legality, unlawfully deployed in a most brazen assault on the rule of law. Mallam has been in custody for over 90 days now and has been charged, in multiple courts in Kaduna State and the FCT, with offences that are unquestionably bailable. Our immediate focus is on securing Mallam’s freedom. While Mallam remains in custody, we urge the ICPC to respect his rights, obey court orders and stop deploying ‘protocols’ as instruments for magnifying the inconveniences of detention. Our family cannot be expected to meekly accept the violation of the rights of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. Signed on behalf of the family. Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. May 19, 2026.

In the name of Allah SWT, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. If running again will not be in the interest of the excellent people of Kaduna North and Nigerians as whole. Then may God give it to another. In the coming weeks, I will be going around by the grace of God to engage the people of Kaduna North in their homes and streets, as well as the stakeholders of our party, the African Democratic Congress, (ADC). I am not entitled to anything and I will work as hard as I can and always do to state our record and convince the public. We will do this while willing to support whoever emerges in the primary election. Regardless of the outcome we will campaign for the candidates in our party with the precision, honesty and transparency we are known for. My focus is still ensuring justice for our dear father, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai but we will be testing this mic from this week Insha Allah. See you soon. Signed: Jika Hanta Mallam’s proud son.

Currently, the NDC is the most stable opposition political party. It has a good structure and knows what it wants to do. Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are accomplished leaders who can boast of their past leadership. I am OK.

May 19, 2026 PRESS STATEMENT Nigerians, Go Get Your Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) Now The Obidient Movement calls on all Nigerians who are eligible to vote (18 years and above) and are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to seize the opportunity provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. No responsible Nigerian should sit on the fence at this defining moment in our nation’s democratic journey towards a New Nigeria. This crucial nationwide exercise is ongoing and will end on Friday, July 10, 2026. This is the last opportunity for Nigerians to secure their PVCs in preparation for the forthcoming 2027 General Elections. Our movement is borne out of a shared yearning for good governance. We affirm that active participation in the electoral process is not just a constitutional right, but also a sacred duty we owe ourselves and future generations. Our PVCs are the key to unlocking the many untapped potentials of this great nation and ending corruption, insecurity, unemployment, and poverty. We call on civil society organisations, the media, religious bodies, private organisations, government institutions, traders, community leaders, and families to mobilise Nigerians on the need for voter registration and active participation in the voting process. Democracy only thrives when citizens actively participate in electing those who govern them, while voter apathy encourages poor leadership. If you need to replace your lost PVC, transfer your polling unit, or correct your data, quickly log on to the dedicated CVR online portal at: cvr.inecnigeria.org Alternatively, visit the nearest INEC State or Local Government Area office nationwide between 9:00am and 3:00pm. The general public is also informed that INEC will display the register of voters from Thursday, July 23, 2026, to Wednesday, July 29, 2026. This exercise will allow the public to scrutinise the published voters’ records and enable the Commission to correct any observed anomalies. We urge Nigerians not to postpone collecting their PVCs. We must register to vote. We must vote, and we shall defend our mandate. Remember, a registered voter with a PVC today is a powerful voice for change tomorrow. A New Nigeria is POssible. I am proud and humbled to have been selected as Labour’s candidate for Makerfield. These proud working-class communities represent the very best values of our country and they deserve so much better. It would be my honour to work for them every day, if elected as their MP, to achieve that. Many people here feel Westminster isn’t working for them and they are right. I am standing to change that and get the voice of these communities heard loud and clear. I am glad that this by-election has finally put the places that make up the Makerfield constituency into the national spotlight. They have been neglected by national politics for too long. It is a good thing that all political parties are now on the hook to tell the voters here what they are going to do for them. More than anything, people need life to be more affordable again. As Mayor, I have brought in changes which are helping, such as the £2 fare cap, free bus travel for our 16-18 year-olds and removing the 9.30am restriction from older and disabled people’s bus passes. But there is only so much I can do from Greater Manchester. If elected, I will have a relentless focus on reducing people’s everyday costs and bills and well as securing the investment these communities need. I have been an elected representative in Greater Manchester for 25 years. Throughout that time, I have fought for the people of the North West of England on so many fronts. I am now ready to bring the whole weight of that experience to fighting for the communities of the Makerfield constituency and would be privileged to be given that opportunity.

Peter Obi said it before he left the ADC. The same forces that destroyed Labour Party from within were finding their way into the ADC. He named it. Packed his bag. Left. Everyone called him dramatic. Today the ADC has postponed its presidential screening twice. Party leaders cannot reach a final agreement among three contenders, Atiku, Amaechi, and Hayatu-Deen. The primaries date is now uncertain. The party does not have money. And Atiku is not allowing a consensus that does not suit him. That last sentence is the entire story. Atiku himself publicly said the party would prioritise consensus. “We are dealing with mature and experienced politicians”, he said confidently. The screening has now been postponed twice and the mature experienced politicians cannot agree on who among them should step aside. Atiku reportedly fell ill over the weekend and was placed on bed rest by his personal physician, contributing further to the postponement. The man running for president for the seventh time in his life cannot attend his own screening because he is on bed rest while simultaneously refusing to allow a consensus that does not favour him. This is not a political party preparing to defeat Tinubu. This is three ageing politicians arguing over a trophy in a competition none of them can win while the platform they are arguing over dissolves beneath their feet. Peter Obi saw this exact movie in Labour Party. He did not wait for the ending. He left before the third act. The ADC stayed to watch and the third act is currently postponed pending further consultations among mature and experienced politicians who cannot agree on anything except that they all want the ticket. Prophet Obi has entered the chat. His only response should be: “I told you so”.

As far as I am concerned, Abdulmalik and Aikawa did not truly grant El-Rufai bail. Because tell me, how are these bail conditions supposed to be met? How do you find a civil servant worth N100 million, who also owns houses in Maitama or Asokoro, and is willing to deposit the original CofO? Unless the person is a thief, where would an ordinary civil servant get such wealth from? How are we expected to obtain a letter of attestation from the Chairperson of the Kaduna Traditional Council, headed by the Emir of Zazzau, Nuhu Bamalli? The last time when Kaduna court requested a similar document, he didn’t sign it till date for reasons best known to him. So, as far as I am concerned, these bail conditions were designed to be impossible to meet, and they know it. That is what makes it look deliberate.

By the time Bola Tinubu is done destroying this country, we will have to conduct a special census to determine the number of people whose integrity are still intact. Tinubu is buying and compromising people in an unprecedented way. People we thought were principled are now blind, deaf and dumb to bad governance in our country. Some are pretending to be neutral, while at the same time making excuses for Tinubu and tacitly opposing any effort to change the status quo.

Atiku believes that if he can turn 2027 into a tribal and religious war, he’d be able to win in the north and that would be his pathway to a rerun. What he fails to understand is that, in a tribal/religious war, he’d lose the north central to PO and NW to Tinubu. And still lose 50% of North Eastern Votes to Tinubu and PO. There’s no such thing as “The North”. It’s not a monolith. Not even Buhari won “The North”. He split votes with Jonathan in North central and north east. Only won the North West with huge margin. Atiku has no NW base. Tinubu beat him mercilessly there in 2023 and would still beat him again. Kwankwaso is also going to beat him there. In the North East, Obi would still get his 25% of votes, and Tinubu would surely get at least 35%. North Central is entirely Obi vs Tinubu. So which North is Atiku banking on? Or is nut missing in his brain and that of his followers?

Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are not poor men. They don't need to use their money to bribe voters or give them bags of rice and garri. They should join funds together with all well-meaning Nigerians, and their party to: 1. Build a high tech central collation center and hire tech gurus to man it. 2. Pay volunteers and mobilization groups to cover for logistics. 3. Ensure that they have delegates in all 774 local governments (if possible) in Nigeria and all polling units who would live stream the results to the collation center. 4. Embark on massive grassroots awareness and campaigns across the country, especially in the remote areas of Nigeria. 5. Form an alliance with local and foreign media and alert them to any malpractices taking place. 6. Mobilize religious leaders to constantly campaign for them in the churches and mosques all over the country. The efforts would yield very good results. In my own little capacity, I am willing to donate N3m towards their campaign. Whether they win or not, I'll not regret it. End.

While ADC is struggling to install Atiku as consensus candidate, Peter Obi has just emerged as NDC sole presidential candidate. Kwankwaso has happily accepted to be his VP. Kwankwasiyya movement held a 5-million man march yesterday to warn up the environment. Honestly, when you see a serious political party you'll know.

There's a serious chaos in ADC! The party is in a serious confusion. When Peter Obi left, people thought Atiku would easily get the ticket but they were wrong. Amaechi is kicking strongly against ADC plans to enthrone Atiku as consensus candidate. Amaechi is so furious and he even said if ADC presents Atiku, they'll lose the election.
