From a hard neighborhood in Ethiopia, Hiwot could have ended up as a maid in a distant country – often the only option for a girl in poverty. But she joined a Hope Center when she was 8, and her sponsor, Anne, an accountant, inspired her. Now Hiwot too is a successful accountant.

From rainforests to deserts to dangerous streets, Child Champions literally go the distance to bring kids hope.

We often share about our Hope Centers, but what about the communities they serve? This Hope Center in Honduras is in an area that struggles with inconsistent incomes, drug abuse and child labor. But families are blessed by Child Champions dedicated to seeing their kids thrive.

If you heard about the hardships Christian has experienced – the loss of his father and life in a hard place – you might think of all he doesn’t have. But when you meet him you can’t miss all he has – a brave, loving mom, a faithful sponsor, Child Champions, and tons of hope.

For kids in hard places, school can seem like a distant dream. When sponsorship makes it possible for them to finally go to school, the eagerness on their faces gives us a beautiful glimpse of dreams coming true.

Introducing the future doctors, nurses, firefighters, lawyers, teachers, and other leaders of the Dominican Republic. For these kids to fulfill their dreams, we pour into them today – guiding them and creating environments where they know their dreams matter.

Tiny stores like this are where many of our kids and their families buy food and household supplies. And for families who are able open a small roadside shop, it can make a huge difference in the lives of their kids, providing money for school fees and basic necessities.

Hope. Every human being needs it like oxygen and water. And it’s the reason we’re here every day – for this sweet girl in Haiti and kids in so many other places where hope is hard to find. And we work with confidence, knowing that God is the great Hope Builder.
