Biggest logistical triumph of #paris2024 ? The internet coverage in the stadium tor the #closingceremony is handing all the social media posts by athletes! 🤣

Just seen @16Sreejesh will be Flag Bearer for the #Paris2024 #closingceremony . Delighted for him. A man who spreads joy wherever he goes, is one of the best keepers of his generation and a man who has twice played a huge part in restoring India’s place on the podium. Enjoy!

It’s often said you need a bit of luck to win a major tournament. Paul van As had it in spades tonight for the womens #hockey gold medal match. Gutted for Annan who has proven what a coach she is, taking that team up from so low to so high.

@hookhockey Perhaps there were issues getting in to slow people down earlier. Just surprised me with Belgium so close by!

Huge number of empty seats for the women’s #Hockey bronze medal game. Really poor from #Paris2024 to not sell that out.

@jtcoaching That’s the thing though. They’d win games away from the big ones, then not get over the line at the big games. Working with a lot of Dutch hockey folk they had no confidence the squad could win gold as they had infighting & lack of composure. That’s changed a lot now.

@OneLoveSAW transformation, but of a discredit to Caldas who had one of the best squads in the world and was up there with the best results wise?? they've been one of the top nations for a number of years and this is just them finally putting all the pieces together at a major finals.

The transformation for the Dutch men’s #hockey team has been something else. Jeroen Delmee proved he was a talented coach with FRA, he’s cemented it with NED. Olympic gold for Holland was unthinkable a few years ago. Huge well done!

@Jamesasr89 Inclined to agree. Years ago I knew our oppo read our local paper online ahead of a critical game, so made some inflammatory comments. Their supporters spent all game trying to wind me (manager) up instead of the players. We won, they went down. Was a risk / reward calculation.

Nah you don’t know what has gone on for Duco to react Everyone jumping to judge Stuff happens on the field you have absolutely no idea about. I’ve witnessed big names say things people wouldn’t like It’s sport, it’s emotional. Just chill, it not that deep. It’s a ‘shh’

Duco, utterly classless move after winning Olympic Gold. Apparantly Wikipedia agrees. #hockey #paris2024

If you ever were in doubt that @Max_Caldas is a top bloke the end of the game proved he is. Genuine delight for the oppo, while also being able to support his own team.

@shailuambasht For me Indian hockey fans & the federation need to see progress as a steady build - not a giant leap. 🥉 in Tokyo was huge. But since then it’s 🥇 or nothing for most of India. Build gradually & it will come. Craig’s done a great job with some brilliant players. Give it time.

@OneLoveSAW Yes sir they have been good ..but no Gold / no silver... Results matter. 40 years done the line noone will remember how India played, what they will say is Who won the Gold . Like in Cricket , till today they say 1983 , India won the world cup inspite of WestIndies being the best

Ignore the ridiculous accusations of racism & bias from some Indian fans. India’s performances in the last two #hockey games have been exceptional. A lot to be proud of. The defensive discipline was stunning. Craig has done a great job and the team should be proud.

Dan Barstow of the @NPUAhockey on the men’s gold medal match for video umpire is spot on. Dan has had an amazing tournament. You’d have no idea this was his first Olympics. So proud of my NPUA colleague!

Just seen Martin Madden of @ScottishHockey has been appointed for the Men’s #hockey Gold Medal Match. This may well be his last international game and this is fitting. He’s been the best umpire at the tournament and has been brilliant for years. Simply put he is brilliant.

@rfoxallsmith Was disappointing to see. They looked terribly nervous. Hope they can come back for the bronze and get something from this. Would be huge for women’s hockey there to see that happen. For so long a secondary consideration to men’s, could be a big chance to shine.

Belgium reap what they sow from that semi-final Enjoyed watching them so much in the early tournament but no strategy or creativity in that at all (except. Blockmans’ delicious shootout) So much credit to China, defensively resolute and killing giants everywhere
