Douglas Alexander is right. The SNP has starved Scotland’s councils of cash and power for years. While Holyrood claims “record funding,” the Accounts Commission shows a £529m black hole this year alone, capital funding down 15%, and councils forced to hike tax by nearly 8% while still cutting services. Our towns are a mess, potholes, litter, neglected streets, and we pay more every year only to get less in return. This has nothing to do with Westminster. Can anyone HONESTLY say in Scotland that the SNP over the last 20 years have improved our lives. Can they honestly say education, housing, homelessness, drug deaths, SNHS, public services, transport etc have all improved with devolution. Can anyone honestly say the SNP have brought Scots together and haven’t divided us more than in our lifetime. Can anyone honestly say devolution has worked ? Not only is it a NO for independence but it’s a NO the SNP have not improved our lives in fact it’s got worse far worse. No more devolved powers and it’s a no to mayors in Glasgow or any other cities. If you want to bypass the Scottish government give the money and power to local councils who have been starved of funding by the SNP.
