No tf not! One of the greatest tragedies of the Berlin Conference was drawing arbitrary borders that forced deeply distinct ethnic groups into single states, stifling organic national unity. Look at the global precedents. China’s relative cohesion exists because the Han identity was consolidated over two millennia of shared imperial history long before modern Western intervention. India, conversely, was a massive, diverse subcontinent stitched together by British colonial rule, which is why it has faced intense, bloody internal fractures since independence. We are seeing the consequences of this artificial amalgamation right next door. Nigeria constantly grapples with intense ethno-religious friction and calls for restructuring between the North and South because it was forced together for British administrative convenience. While Ghana has managed to maintain commendable stability despite our internal ethnic political divides, we shouldn't push our luck. Merging Ghana, Togo, and Benin would be a fucking geopolitical disaster. You would be forcing together entirely different colonial administrative heritages. British Anglophone and French Francophone while completely upending the delicate ethnic balances of the region. It wouldn't create a superpower, it would just create another volatile, ungovernable mega-state like Nigeria.
