I don't care to get in on the "AC question" too much, but this is what Charles Woodmason, itinerant Anglican minister, wrote from Charleston in August, 1766

My new store @fellowship_nc has 52 taps. Do I have any beer experts in my network? Trying to plan what to carry. What’s your must have on tap?

Is it just me or has it been a while since chewing-gum ads were a significant part of TV advertising. Granted I don’t watch much TV.

@TSHamiltonAstro Seems plausible, especially as the concentration on post offices in what looks to me like eastern KY and West Virginia remains fairly high even through the end. It is not an especially populated area, but local travel takes a long time due to the mountains.

It looks like post offices were most frequent in the East around 1900, and then they were thinned out, I’m guessing because transportation made it easier for one post office to serve a wider area. 1/2

A reader just shared this with me. Apparently at the November meeting of NAPARC, the ARP proposed a "call for prayer, fasting, and days of humiliation regarding the rise in ministerial clergy/member sexual misconduct in NAPARC churches" now scheduled for April 22, 2026.

My unsolicited hot take regarding Japanese-Southern US relations is that both Southern and Japanese culture both feminized after losing a brutal war which devastated their respective national identities.
