@hashimiyy_ In my opinion, the tadlees of A'mash is overstated. Unless we have reason to doubt his narration, we shouldn't. In fact, the tadlees of A'mash may even be the fault of some of his students not transmitting his exact words properly.

Ibn ‘Abdullāh al-Hāshimī
This is the type of problem that arises from blindly adopting the methodological approach of later scholars regarding the acceptance of aḥādīth. During my recent academic study of Zaydism, I discovered that a significant number of the traditions they rely upon to support their claims actually exist within our own corpus as well. However, the methodology of the earlier scholars would readily identify several issues with such reports. For example, in this particular narration, al-Aʿmash is present in the chain. He is known to have tendencies toward tashayyuʿ, and he narrates here using ʿan, despite being known for practicing tadlīs. If one refuses to weaken this report, then its apparent implication would be that the Ahl al-Kisāʾ are immune from at least the major sins. Such a conclusion would ultimately undermine multiple positions that Sunnis have long agreed upon, including the established preference of Abū Bakr and ʿUmar.
زهير الأندلسي@AndaluciMaliki1

An explicit tradition stating Ahl al-Bayt are infallible and their purification was a purification from sins similar to the Prophet ﷺ's which later scholars’ methodology can't consistently reject.

@Oneubon4563 The mistake is the sufyan is not thawri rather Ibn uyaynah because uyaynah is the teacher of humaydi not thawri

@AndaluciMaliki1 @ProbAayan However, you are right that scholars following later methodology that do not understand ilal and gharabah would be forced to reject it based on weakening one of the narrators rather than the obvious reason I mentioned.

@AndaluciMaliki1 @ProbAayan It's pretty clear someone in the chain mixed up a tafsir class into a hadith. Ahadith aren't generally structured like this, not even ahadith of A'mash.

@ShariaUnlocked @StrangeAthari This is harder to see in Sahih Muslim because Muslim most of the time does bring Malik's hasan hadith anyway as support, but he doesn't consider it the asl. As for Bukhari, he sometimes just leaves Malik's report for not meeting his standards.

@ShariaUnlocked @StrangeAthari That being said, I think to some extent Bukhari and Muslim were more stringent than the Muwatta. The Muwatta includes some hasan hadith that Bukhari and Muslim avoided for not meeting the best standards.

@winnie4prez Islam fundamentally doesn't consider it a fault to like women or marry them, even multiple women. A hasan hadith from the Prophet (SAW): “From the aspects of this world, women and perfume have been made beloved to me, but my comfort lies in Salah.”

@winnie4prez There is no doubt a man may remain with one wife for many reasons including just loving her a lot and not wanting anyone else. But, that doesn't negate him loving wives after her. You wouldn't say for example that a widower who remarries didn't want to marry his second wife.

In some people's minds, the Prophet (SAW) was reluctantly forced by circumstance to have to marry so many wives even though he would have preferred to stay with one.

@winnie4prez Imagine how they themselves would have felt if someone told them the Prophet was only forced to marry them! Ironically, part of this is people projecting their own aversion to marrying divorcees/widows onto the Prophet. "I would only have done it in exceptional circumstances."

@Oneubon4563 The way the widow one was taught to me sounded more like a marriage of compassion (I forget her name) And the Hz Zainab one felt more like God sort of made him do it
