@JeffStanek1 Bad habits? It teaches good habits. On dirt and grass if you have a kid that pulls the ball in the air, great things generally happen. And if they don’t, who cares?!?!? Celebrate anyway. They learned a valuable skill. Very few games actually matter as a youth player.
English

Unequivocally false. It teaches bad habits to teach young players to look to pull the ball. That is NOT a skill that needs to be focused on, for the majority of baseball players in the world, before college or pro ball. They aren't ready for it / can't process it / can't make adjustments off of it.
In a computer simulation or on a spreadsheet, teaching kids to pull the ball in the air makes all the sense in the world.
On dirt and grass, it destroys hitters.
I don't honestly care if you agree or disagree with me. I know what's true, and don't care to waste any more time arguing with you. All the best
English

@JeffStanek1 Unequivocally false. It doesn’t work for many youth players because they lack strength. But what it does for younger guys is totally different. It teaches them the skill that will become measurably more valuable as they age.
English

@Only1Field Bless him for sure. But, pulling the ball in the air doesn't work for every hitter at every age. In fact, for most, it doesn't work.
English

@JeffStanek1 You aren’t wrong. It is a lot different. That’s why he wrote a book telling everyone regardless of age, the importance of pulling the ball in the air. Bless him.
English

@Only1Field A lot different to tell a 30-some-year-old that who's already got that hitting thing figured out, than an 18-year-old who's still trying to define what a good hitter is.
English

@JeffStanek1 Ted Williams told Tony Gywnn to pull the ball in the air. It led to a late career “power surge” of sorts for Gywnn.

@Only1Field @rotoballs i am an american, i ain't watching no treasonous baking show
English

@rotoballs i didn't root on china
nor do i watch the great british bakeoff or care about their traditions like "is the actress from suits actually an anti-british commando set to destroy our great nation"
sadly several americans do those things which is unfortunate behavior
English

@drivelinekyle Easier to see them in red here in an American field. Bold strategy, I wonder how that has played out historically?
English

@nut_history Dave Stewart not getting enough love here. But also, A’s? Gotta be Foxx
English

@LARAIDERRAID @nut_history The team ERA was better when Molina wasn’t catching. 🤷
English

@nut_history Properly! His Leadership Skills and Command of Staff second to none in history of baseball defense top notch with winning results. It’s not just about hitting and this is coming from a Dodger fan.
English

@CodifyBaseball I’m all for floors. If you aren’t spending at least 150 million you should lose your first three draft picks.

MORE THAN HALF OF MLB TEAMS HAVE PAYROLLS OUTSIDE OF THIS RANGE RIGHT NOW MY GOODNESS
Underdog MLB@UnderdogMLB
Heyman: Early estimates suggest proposed salary cap might be set around $260M-280M and floor around $140M-160M.
English

@hallofgoodpod What could have been. Khalil Greene was one of the best SS prospects ever. He was so smooth
English

@nut_history I’d pay to go again. They are fun and the players are crazy talented. You want to see a guy who hits 97 from the left side? They had a guy. Backflip catches in the outfield? Guy on stilts? Flaming bats? Celebrity cameo? Free shirts? Great interactions with fans? Its amazing
