@OnlyMormons One is government forced, the other is voluntary. Pretty sure you knew the difference though and are just trolling.
English

@calhounm8 One could argue that taxes are more voluntary and less risky to not pay. It’s promised that you won’t be saved during the second coming and cannot participate in covenants if you neglect tithing. Taxes you can at least vote to determine where the money is going.
English

@OnlyMormons I am also thinking this is a troll line but I guess I will bite anyways! You are comparing two totally different things... tithing is voluntary and taxes are not. Socialism is forced communism. To help the poor is something that people and the church should do as needed!

You are not God. You can look on sin with forgiveness. Not allowance, but forgiveness, compassion, and understanding.
English

@Jakehansenmusic @isaacgrantlyon @mitchie18 This legitimately hurt me to read. Ignoring all of Christ’s teachings and the pleas from the brethren to forgive those who did not mean to do harm... The doctrine of the Old Testament has been consistently shown to be only for the people of Moses’ time. We abide by a higher law.

@Jakehansenmusic @OnlyMormons @mitchie18 You can listen to what the Church has said on the matter, though. mormonnewsroom.org/article/immigr…
“The Church supports a balanced and civil approach to a challenging problem, fully consistent with its tradition of compassion, its reverence for family, and its commitment to law.”
English

@isaacgrantlyon @Jakehansenmusic @mitchie18 It was a much better call to just go directly to doctrine. Thanks Isaac 👌
English

@Jakehansenmusic @OnlyMormons @mitchie18 “The history of mass expulsion or mistreatment of individuals or families is cause for concern especially where race, culture, or religion are involved. This should give pause to policy that contemplates targeting one group, particularly if that group comes from one heritage. “
English

@Jakehansenmusic @isaacgrantlyon @mitchie18 I was pointing out the fact that there are shades to the law, and that not every infraction is equivalent to murder. I didn’t change course. Of course I’ve done all those things. I just expect a hint of compassion when it comes to penalties of non-violent crimes.
