Due to my lack of internet connection, I couldn't congratulate the people of Iran for their successful revolution. They came to the street demanding a monarchical system, and they got one. Belated congrats.

I know it's no use expecting any better from Israel, but assassinations of Larijani and Kharazi really is another unspeakable moral line crossed. To kill people who are engaged in diplomatic attempts to end the war? Even medieval armies didn't go after diplomats.

@Notabotlol7 Larijani had absolutely zero role in running Iran's military or any armed force, Iran's secretary of security council has always been a purely diplomatic position. Rouhani and other previous occupants all were Iran's chief diplomats too.

@rostam_pechorin I told him that killing Khamenei wouldn't lead to a regime change and that such a thing couldn't happen with boots on the ground. I was curious how he'd change his mind after this became apparent. Good that he took the correct path.

I'm glad Ashkan is doing this. I don't think it's nearly enough on its own for how enthusiastically he supported the war, and propagated some of its worst lies, but it's a start. There needs to be an honest reflection about how someone who loves Iran as deeply as Ashkan does got drawn into supporting foreign invasion, destruction, and the slaughter of the Iranians he want's to help. Without that, I don't know how anyone can trust that he, and people like him, are not going to fall for the same traps going forward. None the less, I applaud him for changing his mind, and apologizing to the people. I hope more follow his example.

@OnlySkyKimi Larjani wasn't a diplomat he was their security chief (essentially a general) lots of generals have been killed on the battlefield when parlay efforts failed. Iran's FM is arguably a diplomat although thats a stretch Larijani is not in any way shape or form

It's extremely hilarious (and indicative of the kind of propaganda they consume) that Iranian students shout anti-communist slogans. They're not a factor in Iranian politics. Zero power. Even living former communists are neo-liberals. It's like protesting Peronists in Sweden.
