The Texas Supreme Court just ruled Ken Paxton can demand records from PFLAG with only a “reasonable belief” a law might be violated — no actual evidence required. PFLAG isn’t a clinic. They don’t provide medical care. They’re a support group for LGBTQ people and their families. I went to meetings early in my transition when I was scared of being outed. Places like that only work if people trust their privacy is protected. Letting the government dig through those conversations is a dangerous precedent, no matter where you stand on trans issues. Republicans and Democrats should equally rebuke this government overreach. What’s to stop dems from doing the same to Christian or conservative groups? Please find a new job.
