General Sibiya is not part of the group. More arrests are expected, we understand. Four brigadiers are part of the group, as are Bid Evaluation Committee officers. Investigations are underway to establish whether the Bid Adjudication Committee was misled into favoring Medicare24. @eNCA

EXCLUSIVE Several senior police officers, including Generals, have been arrested in Pretoria on corruption related charges. It is linked to the Medicare Tshwane District contract. Sources say the arrested cops were part of the bid committee. We also believe that a former senior employee of Vusi “Cat” Matlala is behind bars. They are being detained at a police station in the capital. All those arrested will appear in court tomorrow. @pule_jones

Sources confirm, Sgt Nkosi is not part of that group! #MadlangaCommission tomorrow on #eNCA in the morning we unpack everything.

Tune into @eNCA DSTV 403 for more…

Spoke in Parliament today about the rise of podcasts and the question of regulation—making the case that the industry should be protected and nurtured, not prematurely overregulated.

TMPD Deputy Commissioner Revo Spies is set to take the stand at the Madlanga Commission today. Spies, who heads Asset Protection and Security Services, is expected to testify on alleged criminality and political interference within the metro police. He joined TMPD in March 2025 after taking early retirement from EMPD. So far the city has heard the following about Fannie Nkosi’s involvement in the tender rigging: Alleged inside influence: Sergeant Fannie Nkosi told the commission he worked with TMPD deputy chief Umashi Dlamini to help his brother’s company secure a City of Tshwane tender. Non-compliant bidder: The company, Ngapesheya, was allegedly non-compliant on at least 12 separate requirements — yet was still pushed forward. Interference after closing date: Evidence shows communication continued months after the tender closed in October 2024. Fixing compliance issues: Dlamini allegedly sent instructions in April 2025 on how to address outstanding compliance problems. Preferred bidders list: Nkosi sent a list of preferred companies to Tshwane CFO Gareth Mnisi, list was reportedly compiled by an individual known as “Nico”. #KayaNews #MadlangaCommission TT

This is one way to enforce the law… push it into action 😅 EMPD officers literally putting their backs into service delivery. Maybe the fuel budget didn’t make it this month, but at least the manpower is working overtime. On a serious note though — it’s a bad look. Whether it’s a breakdown or poor maintenance, scenes like this don’t inspire confidence inmetro police that’s supposed to respond quickly when it matters most.
