My view is the CPS will drop this before it gets properly tested in court, just as we saw with Matt Styler. They know public anger is already high, and pushing weak or politically sensitive charges into court risks inflaming the situation further. But that cannot be the end of it. If charges are dropped, the CPS and any arresting officers involved must still be held accountable. Public trust depends on it. British policing only works by consent. That consent is vanishing fast. When people believe the police are no longer impartial, they stop cooperating, stop assisting enquiries, and start believing lawful justice has failed. That vacuum is dangerous. It leads to people talking about street justice, and that is exactly where a broken trust relationship takes a country. Restore public trust now, or lose it completely.

Justice for 20-year-old Cody Harper! He’s scheduled to appear at the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on July 23rd on the false charges of assaulting a police officer. He risks around 6-12 months in prison if wrongfully convicted.
