📱 A lawsuit claims Meta can access WhatsApp messages, violating privacy An international group of plaintiffs has filed a class-action lawsuit against Meta, accusing the company of misleading users about the privacy of WhatsApp. According to the lawsuit, despite claims of end-to-end encryption, Meta allegedly stores, analyzes, and can access users’ private messages. The plaintiffs cite whistleblowers but do not disclose their identities. ❌ Meta has rejected the allegations, calling the lawsuit baseless and a “fabrication.” The company says WhatsApp has used end-to-end encryption based on the Signal protocol for over ten years and has vowed to seek sanctions against the plaintiffs’ lawyers.
