@Orangutandreaaa I’m currently studying Environmental science and I’ve met and chatted with a lot of current primate keepers who were also Environmental science majors. But any life science works!

Quick question: what is the best major to pick if I wanna work with apes?

@feverburnt Thank you so much I didn’t think anyone would respond, but I do have an ok idea I think. I was thinking of doing veterinarian stuff but I’m too afraid

@Orangutandreaaa I strongly recommend having a solid idea of the path you want to take before picking your major. This may mean waiting to pick one while you figure it out. Initially you can take gen ed stuff every degree requires. Once you’re sure of the path best for you, you know the major

@Orangutandreaaa id say zoology/animal biology. i used to work at my local zoo and everyone who worked with the animals, especially primates, had that as their major
