@stokecity That’s 3 managers in 2 seasons. Just didn’t expect those 2 seasons to be Autumn and Winter.

@PaulGarvey4 @ShakinthatChalk @Rory_Gribbell I don’t think TR hides his views from anyone. If you think TTR is right wing, that’s your prerogative of course. I disagree. There’s a range of views and plenty of people within TTR and guests on shows that I have disagreed with. People have a right to their own views though.

If anyone is brave enough to come on and make a case FOR the new framework I’d be very happy to hear from you. DM or reply. I’ve tried, but so far no one is keen! I want a balanced debate as far as possible. But the frustration in our profession simply can’t be ignored!

The new OFSTED framework and the HMCI’s comments are the topic for the Twilight Show on Wednesday at 6pm on @TTRadioOfficial. If you want to come on the show, let me know. Reply or DM. If you want to watch and maybe comment live, you’d also be very welcome! See you then!

Dalian Atkinson would have been 58 today. Gone far too soon, but some memories will last a lifetime. I’ll never tire of watching this goal. What a moment in time...

@OrbsSCFC I totally understand. Thanks anyway. You can always watch the show and comment live! 😇 I get the feeling the new framework won’t come out of it too well 😅

This is a hill I’ll die on. Percentage FSM does not tell the full contextual story of schools. Telling a school they have to improve outcomes for PP is futile when the school can’t manage to put a permanent teacher in every classroom.

@sciantificnew Thanks Tony I appreciate that but I’m a shrinking violet at heart! Happy to talk about things on here though. Definitely food for thought 😊👍🏻👍🏻

@OrbsSCFC It is. If you want to come on my show next Wednesday at 6pm and talk about it you’d be very welcome. Sounds like you could bring some balance and insight?

@sciantificnew That’s interesting as let’s say the IDSR shows a declining picture over 3 years (primary) and the books back this up in terms of really poor writing and maths then that to me would be extra evidence that backs up the poor IDSR and that achievement needs attention.

@sciantificnew Yes that’s true - the achievement grade isn’t solely based on the IDSR though as work in current books/current standards are taken into account too - not only the IDSR. This example is really interesting as achievement is NA but C&T and Inclusion are both strong.

@OrbsSCFC Point taken over the ‘generally’ caveat. But the achievement part of the toolkit does mention national averages and examinations being in line them though. Which will surely hit disadvantaged schools more?

@sciantificnew Yep - just looking at these posts that are linking NA achievement with areas of high disadvantage without (as far as I can see) stating what the C+T grade is. A secure fit for expected does have language of ‘generally’ ‘typically’ etc and so expected does not have to be perfect.

@OrbsSCFC Fundamentally I don’t think OFSTED should look at achievement at all as it’s too contextual to ever be equitable. But yes, assuming there is confidence in the gradings then I’d find that easier to accept. (Not convinced yet though as I think the secure fit is too prescriptive).

@kable54 @FootballInT80s Yes Darren is Joe’s dad. Darren played in goal for Halifax Town and his dad played in goal for Leicester City - George I think.

@sciantificnew No because at a monitoring visit grades aren’t awarded. They only get awarded if the monitoring visit is deemed to be a full inspection - at that point if nothing is urgent improvement the school comes out of the category. Grades could be NA or expected or strong or exceptional
