OrdiBots was the first Ordinals collection to fall victim to an RBF Sniping attack, an event that would soon reshape the entire Ordinals ecosystem. From that day forward, uncertainty loomed, yet one thing was clear: this incident would leave a lasting mark on the Ordinals world [and later on Runes]. OrdiBots stood out as an innovative, successful test, a free mint that brought 3D rendering in augmented reality directly on-chain. This groundbreaking technology later inspired other releases and airdrops, including the notable Runestone airdrop, which reused the 3D technology pioneered by OrdiBots. This was a cursed collection. Today, there will never be another cursed collection, as the Ordinals protocol no longer permits it. Another innovation was the implementation of the parent-child structure. OrdiBots was among the first collections ever to employ a linking tree to a "parent inscription," authenticating the rest of the collection. OrdiBots was the very first project to introduce a concrete innovation to the ecosystem, ultimately serving as a case study that has driven marketplaces and major industry players to actively address and resolve the issue of RBF Sniping. Despite the fact that those impacted by the sniping attack only lost the opportunity to mint their OrdiBot, not any actual funds, the team chose to release an airdrop at their own expense to all affected users, demonstrating a strong commitment to the Ordinals community.
