@DanKelley66 I thought Offerman’s Sox career was a bit underrated. He wasn’t awful. The expectations of him were probably just too high. Made an All-Star team. Had a good ALCS offensively. Terrible defense though. lol

There is something in free agency (all sports) I call the Jose Offerman Effect. The Red Sox had money to spend in free agency one year, but Mo Vaughn signed with the Angels & Bernie Williams re-signed with the Yankees. It left Offerman as the top FA so Boston overpaid to get him.
Moral of the story: Just because something appears to be the best option available at a given time does not mean it's necessarily a good option.

@CalhounColonel During one of the coaches tours yrs ago, my wife and I were awkwardly standing at a table having a drink, unsure of how to approach the coaches in the room when Coach Mackenzie strolled over and stood at our table for a good 15 min, engaged in conversation with us. Great guy!

Back in 2013-2015 I ran marketing for UConn women’s hockey. Coach Mackenzie was just hired and to be blunt, we had never before been competitive.
Coach Mackenzie had a calmness to him. Like he had a plan. He knew they were gunna figure it out even when no one else did.
What a coaching job. Add him to the list of unbelievable coaches on UConn’s staff. Congratulations @UConnWHOC!!!

They are going to finish 17-3 in conference and be a 2 seed in the NCAA tournament, have beaten multiple top 25 opponents this year in strong performances and I have zero confidence they will make it to the second weekend of the tournament
